I can't control my new iPhone 6 when it is plugged into the usb port. If I start a song using my phone, it'll work but not if I change the mode from radio to external device.

make sure you have the correct cord from BMW. If it still doesn't work reset the phone.

Sounds like he doesn't have enhanced Bluetooth. You can only control the phone with that option or coded. The standard one will stream, but you gotta control it from the phone.

I just bought an iPhone 6 but have not yet opened the box. I am taking delivery of a 435GC with EBT and would like to know the following.

What integration issues those with the iPhone 6 are having. Specifically,

1. Can you see your list of contacts?
2. Can you see and respond to emails and texts?
3. Can you stream music from the music app via BT?

If integration is a real problem, would you recommend an Android Phone such as LG3 or HTC One?

I think it might be the latest iOS update. My 6+ does the same thing occasionally. It is weird if it starts itself it works fine but if you answer a call after the call it doesn't start playing again like usual and then even if you switch songs you have to manually press play on the phone again. It used to on occasions when you move a song it would just hang for a few seconds and then start to play the first song alphabetically. I also noticed that it even happens when trying to change the song with the scroll wheel on the steering wheel. It seems like it is intermittent though and when it does happen it is VERY annoying

Before I answer, I'll put in a disclaimer - I have the CIC nav, and you have NBT, which is newer/faster/better.

1) Yes, you can see list of contacts. You can also see recent calls using the scroll wheel on the steering wheel (visible on HUD if you have it, otherwise on the instrument cluster)

2) With CIC, you can't. Not sure about NBT. I can confirm you can receive text & emails on your iDrive display, and it will dictate them.

3) Yes, you can stream music from any music app via BT.

2. I have a 2015 435ix GC and an iPhone running the latest version of iOS and emails / texts do not work..

Same for me with iPhone 6 i think ios8 is most likely the problem. It has several other glitches. Hopefully a fix comes soon.

I'm having the same problem. When I connect my phone thru the USB I can't control iTunes play list and when I'm on a call it drops the Bluetooth. I'm taking to the dealer this Monday to see what's up. I'll give an update

I had some of the same issues however after a visit to the dealer to have my turbocharger replaced seems they also did a software update. I can now receive TXT messages an, most of the time email. Make sure your phone is configured for "alerts" and not "banners". I believe there is more details on the correct setting in another post.

I'm having trouble with my iPhone 6 choosing songs with the scroll wheel or under the now playing list on iDrive.
I scroll and choose a song but it doesn't change, it just keeps playing the same song.

If I hit the next> button it works but then I have to go one by one. PITA.
