Replacement Key: Matching FCC ID needed?
Hi, all!
I'm browsing the web, searching for a reset/virgin key to replace one I lost on a jog (Check for holes in your pockets! ) The FCC ID on my spare key is: YGOHUF5767. I found a smokin' deal on a new (visually identical) key, however, the FCC ID is YGOHUF5662. Will this reset/virgin key work on my car with the different FCC ID? Or, do they need to match? I hope not, b/c I cannot find a key with the blue accent strip with the 5767 ID ending. Thank you!

Doubtful. I looked up those FCC IDs and they are for different frequencies. Here's the link: FCC ID Search
Your original key is registered for 433.2MHz or 433.64MHz. The other key is registered for 314.6MHz or 315.0MHz. |

Thanks so much for the response. None of the replacement key threads have that info in it. I wonder how many people have bought the wrong replacement key!
The seller has the correct frequency for me. Let's see if it'll work! If so, it'll be MUCH cheaper than going to BMW. LOL
