BUT... ...to my disappointment, when I played the tracks via my Scandisk 32GB Cruzer Fit USB drive in my F30, the tracks played with gaps. I assume it has to do with the way the BMW stereo processes/plays the files. Totally discouraging. So I guess gapless playback in a digital format is unattainable. I think since I can't attain seemless/gapless playback even with a lossless format, I am just going to rip my CD's to high quality mp3's using VBR -V0 using the LAME encoder. I think the quality will be good enough for me and I will be able to fit about 300 albums on my drive as opposed to only 60 or so if they were WMA lossless. When I want to listen to a CD that has tracks that run together, I will either just have to live with the gaps, or pop in the CD. I did notice that when you go into External Devices->USB, it starts playing whatever you last had playing. Is there a way to STOP playing, or is your only option to you use the mute/volume button? What if I would like to be able to search for an album/music to silence instead of listening to something that I no longer want to listen to? |

Some of my lossless WMA tracks are listed, but immediately skipped when played. Seems to happens with entire albums. Some do play, though. Annoying.

I have the same issue with my 2013 F30. The car stereo will play my WAV files from my 64GB USB flash drive and it recognizes all of the songs contained within separate folders, however it does not play the tracks without momentary pauses between each. This is VERY annoying when listening to live recordings!

Suggest using iTunes Playlists. Strikes me as much easier and has more functionality with BMW. Format in FAT32, copy musc files from iTunes Playlist to folder on card (drag and drop the Playlist), use VLC to build playlist mpu file.
