Wet Amp... Help Please
So we had a big rainstorm last week and I lost the sound in my F30. The head unit still works but all of the sound is dead. I can play music from my phone though.
I removed the carpeting in my trunk and discovered that my amp was sitting in some water. Ordered a used amp from a salvage yard and installed it but I still don’t have any sound. I also have an Active Sound Amp but it was not sitting in water. Can anyone let me know what I should try next (fuses and relays)? Thanks! |

What audio system do you have? Hifi or Harman Kardon? Hifi amp should be a direct swap but a new HK amp would need coding to your car.
As for fuse, it'll be in the fuse box in the trunk. Not sure exactly what it is but I'd start checking the 40 amp ones - I'm sure there aren't that many of them. A 40 amp linked to the audio system is fuse 123 so check that out first. |
