What about M car? Since they have real tires not run flat, tire can be repaired at any tire shop at low cost. Is it safe to say tire insurance is definitely not worth it if you have non- run flat?

I too have the insurance on my 19" wheels and RFT. Can't find my paperwork to read so I'm posing this quick question;
If I switch from RFT to go flat tires, will it void the warranty? If the answer is no, then do the go flats need to be BMW spec tires (star on sidewall)? Thanks! |

True true. Really, I bought the insurance mainly for the wheels as I live in northwestern PA where the roads are ridden with potholes and also because my wife does not seem to even look at the road when she drives. Somehow she finds a way to steer into every pothole regardless of being able to see it a mile away.

No. I just had the same thing happen. I asked the SA too. However about 3,000 miles later my other front tire got a bubble in it. Now I have two new front tires.

Also asked about recommended replacement (2 or 4 at a time, and if that was covered), and they said it would only cover the tire(s)/wheel(s) that were damaged. They said if you decided to replace multiple tires, you'd have to pay for the others out of pocket, but in general it's not necessary, though many places push for it. They also said you could cancel it at any time and get the pro-rated balance of the warranty refunded, so if you decide you don't want it, simply go in and cancel it and get your money back. |

I just can't tell if you're being serious, or if you just regret getting fleeced by the dealer on a stupid tire insurance plan. You've really never had a flat on any other car you've ever owned? Maybe if they're all old, you'd use common sense and replace them all at the same time, but there is no way you would think a tire protection plan would replace 3 other tires because you got 1 flat tire. Or even 1 other tire on the same axle. If you want to replace an extra tire, please feel free to do it, just don't expect a dealer or insurance plan to pay for it.

I got a flat tire 2 years ago and replaced the tire under the tire & wheel insurance offered by BMW. the dealer only replaced the flat tire (same brand & model). |

I got a 5 year easy care tire/rim protection. anyone deal with easy care ?
I got it because on my old car i had 2 flats in 1 year alone without any pothole damage, on my brand new tires. I just had them plugged, which i dont think would be an option on run flats ? |

My runflats had 30,000km on them and were already showing their age. I got an unfixable puncture (though I guess any puncture in general is unfixable if they are runflats).
Dealer said I'd have to replace two tires at a cost of about $800. Instead, I bought 4 new tires from a tire shop for the same price, non runflat. The new tires are super soft and make the car way more responsive. Funny enough, the same happened with my E90 and I did the same thing way back then, too. |
