The carbon fiber air box

The AWE Tuning BMW F30 328i S-FLO Carbon Intake is a fully enclosed carbon fiber air box made from high grade UV stabilized 2x2 twill carbon fiber to reduce yellowing from under hood heat. This air box mounts securely in the stock location and mates up to the factory air inlet pipes, perfectly. It boasts simple access for filter inspection and helps to deliver as much power as it does good looks.

The AWE Tuning S-FLO Filter

The included AWE Tuning S-FLO Filter is specifically designed to maximize airflow in the AWE Tuning S-FLO Carbon Intake. This increased flow unlocks impressive max gains of 16hp and 17ft-lbs of torque at the crank.

The carbon fiber airbox and S-FLO Filter combination makes for an easily serviceable air filter without removing the airbox. The combo produces a more aggressive intake note than stock, with a distinctive turbo spool sound, all while keeping your car operating Check Engine Light free.

Wow a lot less than I was expecting. Still a lot, but a lot less that Gruppe and looks a lot better. Only if I was not planning on getting the F80 in the next 12 months I would be all over this.

Full carbon fiber is not cheap. Long process. Considering the other guys that sell a tube with a filter for 490 bucks, if I was getting an intake, might as well put down another 500 for one that actually looks good. Gruppe CF intake is $1700 so this is very reasonable. Compare it with other cf parts. People pay $300-400 just for a trunk lip spoiler that is just a flat piece of cf. LOL..

Yea I hear what you are saying...if it's for cosmetic reasons but you don't see it since it's under the hood as compared to a spoiler. the reason I haven't put an intake on my car...the price per gain is so slim if at all. I'm definitely skeptical when a manufacturer shows the power gains. especially descent gains compared to everyone else's intake. When most people say they do nothing for performance.
Either way it's a nice looking piece, whatever floats someone's boat

Does this make a loud woosh sound? And optional dry type filter? Heard the oil type filter has a chance to kill the MAF sensor.
I am looking for a quiet intake upgrade so i can enjoy my focal systems in the car. And preferably lighter, too

i just need something for more power.

when i pick up a 2012/13 328

tune
down pipe
charge pipe
FMIC

and last would be this or just a K&N filter. But the tune & FMIC would almost cost a grand. No way would i be paying that.

Its a great piece, but maybe have options for different materials so your msrp isnt 999.

something in the 450-600 range id pickup.

Ohh boy this looks sick!
just wish I wasn't in Brazil and our money so undervalued.
With the way our currency is right now we pay 4x the asking price.
Imagine paying 4.000 USD for an intake?
yeah, sucks

I have your Touring edition exhaust with the mid pipe, which is a fantastic exhaust by the way, and was wondering if this intake will make a more potent turbo whistle or if it will enhance the sound of the exhaust overall. Additionally, how well does the carbon fiber construction deal with keeping heat out of the air box compared to the stock box? Like is carbon fiber more heat resistant compared to the plastic stock air box?
