The build date of the car is irrelevant. What matters only is that the PSdZData version being used is >= to the last version of ISTA/P used to program the car.

If your current PSdZData works, for coding there is no reason or benefit to update PSdZData.

If though you want to update your ECU firmware, same as dealer does using ISTA/P during vehicle programming, then you would use newer PSdZData version, and flash ECU's with E-Sys. This though should only be done to correct a know issue or to add a new feature.

Hmmm what does it mean when everything was working fine.. I coded a few things (windows up with fob, etc) and went to code starting engine without holding brake or clutch (I have a. manual 6MT) and it failed at the end of the coding with an error -2.. After this it says "No ZGW Available" for VIN when I try to reconnect.. No dice after a restart, turned car off/on, etc.. It simply won't connect to the computer anymore.. So strange that it worked for the first couple things I did but not now.. :/

Shut car off, wait 30 minutes, and then connect again. ZGW should be back.

Thanks brother, it's locked up and sitting now.. Will try again in about an hour. Is it better to code things one at a time or just change everything you want at once and code it once to avoid this?

Letting the car sit got me reconnected but FEM BODY is now some 255_255_255 generic table that won't read codes anymore.. The other sections are working fine and letting me code those... Any idea how FEM BODY section got corrupt?

Yes, there was an interruption of some sort during coding. Usually it is caused by loss of power or cable disconnecting from OBD Port while writing data back to ECU.

Now you need to inject CAFD back into ECU and VO Code it:

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Left-Click on FEM_BODY => Click on "Detect CAF for SWE" => Select the CAFD from latest I-Level shown => Select OK => Right-Click on FEM_BODY (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE.

Thanks.. When I inject the stock CAFD back for FEM BODY, I assume it'll overwrite all my previous changes back to stock? And does this affect only FEM BODY or will it reset every other CAFD as well? Thanks for the help! You're a life saver.

FEM_BODY will be reset to it normal factory codings.

No other ECU will be affected.

It was confusing as to which was the latest FEM BODY version.. :/ I went by what looked like the version number.. But the top folder had higher numbers and the versions were higher than the top folder version.. if that makes sense.. I'll try to get a screen shot to show you what i'm talking about..

I'm back up and running there anyways but it seems my adaptive headlights no longer turn when I turn the wheel now.. everything else coded properly.. And for some reason the radio/nav turns off the moment I open the car door.. I liked it the way it was before where everything remained on.. Oh well, it's late - i'll figure it out!

When you VO Coded FEM_BODY, did you use factory original FA or modified FA?

I think I'm ready to try and code my no dazzle LEDs. I have everything set up and am clear on how to remove the crippling codes from my VO.

I had a quick question on VO coding FEM_BODY as an example. After I follow the instructions on this site and click code, will the change automatically be saved to the car, or will some sort of save option appear? Just wanted to ask ahead before I did it.

Many thanks.

When you click Code, it will reconfigure the FDL Codes in the ECU, and they will stay that way until if and when you change them again, or dealer programs your car.

I have no idea :/ It just prompted me a list of about 8 different VO versions to recode it back to.. I picked the one that appeared to be newest.. I think the one ending in 505 or something.

I did not ask about which CAFD version you injected. I am asking about your Vehicle Order (FA). If you VO Coded FEM_BODY (Right-Click => CODE) after you injected whatever CAFD you did into it, and you have problems with AHL and Power Off on Door Pull, then either a) you did not actually VO Code the ECU, or b) you VO Coded the ECU with a modified FA instead of factory original FA.

Yes, select "Editors & Viewers" and then select "FDL-Editor".

E-Sys will prompt for you token PIN. Click on Details >> for more info about your token.

Just Open E-Sys => Editors & Viewers => FDL Editor, and enter your .EST Token PIN. If it is accepted, then the .EST Token is good.
