Production Problem: USB and Bluetooth
The dealership called today to inform me that my car and ~2000 other recently produced BMWs (F30s only or all models, I do not know) were incorrectly configured during the build and do NOT include USB connectivity and Bluetooth capability. My understanding is these features cannot be retrofitted.
BMW is offering $750 as compensation. I declined and will re-order. And I'll include the M Sport Package this time. The build date on the car is early August and is due in the US 22 August. So if you have a car on order/transit, you might want to check with your client adviser for the completeness of your build. Good luck! Joel |

Bluetooth is a standard feature? Do you mean advanced Bluetooth and USB? If that's all you are missing I'd take the 750 and run! You'll still have Bluetooth and USB, just not streaming.

Great info--thanks for sharing.
My vehicle is scheduled to start production in week 35 (about 2 weeks from now). I hope they have this resolved by then. I didn't get any of the extra pkgs w/ the advanced bluetooth connectivity--just the basics. |

The problem is with the STANDARD iPOD and USB adapter and STANDARD Bluetooth. Not the Enhanced Bluetooth option or any other option. Standard, as in the base model and up.
Now you know as much as I do. Joel |

Hopefully this doesn't affect the more generously configured F30s...

I've got a MY13 Sportline 335 with Tech Package in transit. Not having functional bluetooth would be a dealbreaker for me. The only regret I have ever had with my E90 was not getting bluetooth when I ordered it so I was happy to see it as a standard feature on the F30. Guess I'll wait and see what rolls off of the truck when the car gets to the dealership.

I have a week 32 build with the tech package, hoping that mine was not affected since I have advanced bluetooth and nav.

According to my CA--who checked on my current build--only 328i's were affected by this Bluetooth/USB issue. Not sure if this is true or not.
He may have called BMWNA to find out- |

BMW's going to make sure their dealers tell buyers this. otherwise when people realize their cars don't have the standard bluetooth they were promised, BMWs going to be hammered with another class action.

My can is built around the same dates. I didn`t hear anything from my CA.
Did you check bmwvin.com? Do you see the Bluetooth and USB in there? I think $750 is not enough compensation for this kind of error. I would ask them to order a new one and give you a loaner. |

Spoke to my CA today about my 328i. Mine was built in the first half of July and is not part of the problem batch. She did say that owners who re-order will have extended delivery times. Not sure why, but probably because of having to build replacement cars and still fill new orders.

Just received word from my CA that my 2013 M-sport was affected. It was produced the second half of July, and just arrived at port yesterday. He said the car was expected to be available for pickup by Tuesday of next week, so you can understand my disappointment.
BMW is offering $750 off the price of the current car, or they will reorder. I mentioned to my CA that I may ask for my deposit to be refunded, which he grudgingly said they would do. Leads me to believe that if I re-order, I may be able to get a better deal, or add the HID's or HK audio, both options I had been kicking myself for not getting. Still, major disappointment on having to wait an additional 8 weeks. |

Can someone please tell us which vehicles have the problem? I'm sure that there are many people with recent builds that would like to know more about this.
Also, can someone please verify that checking your VIN on bmwvin.com and verifying that you have Bluetooth/USB is proof that we do *not* have the issue? I am waiting on a 335xi that was finished last Friday (the 10th), and I would like to verify that my car is not impacted by the issue. Bmwvin.com shows S6NLA Bluetooth and USB. Thank you! |

Apparently the 335's were not affected. Seems like it's localized to 328's produced in the latter half of July. If you're in that bucket, I HIGHLY recommend calling your CA. Mine received a notice this morning alerting him to the omission on my car. Additionally, bmvin reports that my car does NOT have option code S6NLA.
