Hey Guys

Got this in the mail few days ago and figured I would share with you all.
So, the package came bundled with an USB flash drive [shape resembles the form of BMW's key-fob and is made out of aluminum, most likely], and packaged in a nice elegant souvenir box [2 Gigs though )))!!].
It contains some BMW video ads and performance school commercial, as well as a web-link to M Performance Academy registration for a [!!!] free ONE-DAY DRIVER’S SCHOOL - $849
There's also a thank you letter about my loyalty to the brand and instruction on how to redeem the training session.

That being said - I am beyond excited and look forward booking my trip soon and visiting Spartanburg SC for the first time

Yep, I got the same thing a few months ago. I considered loading it with music and plugging it into the USB port in the armrest.

You know, out of all this what really matters is their attention to the customers ... I would really care less about the flash-drive itself, although its a very cool looking, but their outreach is, well - it put a big smile on my face.

Damn where's mine? I just got a $50 visa gift card for my loyalty. Will have to find out how much I have to spend to get one of those. I would keep it at my desk at work to be the envy of the office.

I got the same flash drive with 2 commercials and a BMW welcome microsite which doesn't load :/ also i hope the flash drive was at least 64GB. With 2GB storage there is not much use for me. lol

It does require some active plug-ins tough ..

No, As i did not read the appreciation note and other papers. I just kept the drive and recycled the letter and flyer. I hope i did not recycle the free M-performance training code lol. It was not on the drive though.

I got one too! But mine only came with 3 files. There were 2 mp4s with "Innovations" and "M Initiation" video files and a html "Welcome" link which seems to be a dead link.

Does anyone know if the link was incorrect or if they closed the microsite since they sent out the USB drives?

I got a small card with the drive that told me the drive was a gift and a bmwusa.com/welcome web address with a note encouraging me to register for more information and benefits.

You will enjoy the 1 day class BMW calls Car Control Class. I took the same class at BMW Performance School West in California.

Congrats! You can apply the credit to a 1 or 2 day M School. I took a 2 Day M School with the $849 credit discount as well as the BMW CCA 15% discount. Literally saved over $1000. The M School was totally worth it, going 140mph in an M3 down the back straight at Thermal is exhilarating. Note that the ONE-DAY DRIVER’S SCHOOL is very different than the M School and I highly recommend the upgrade.

Interesting that you got this for your 4 series, but there are some F8X drivers that didn't. I got mine last year, but I was never sure if it was for my 340i or my M3, which I got within months of each other. How many BMWs have you owned in the past? Many have been trying to find the pattern, 2 M cars, 2 non-M cars, 1 M car... too many differences.

The day starts at 9am with a general overview, safety instructions, and then classes you will participate in.

- Hard braking / how to control the vehicle
- Slalom
- Sharp lane change at high speeds / object avoidance / hard braking
- Skid pad and controlling the vehicle while slipping and sliding as the water continues to flow on the skid pad
- The day ends with instructors taking all students in M3 vehicles and driving at the edge of the performance envelope. Tires are typically changed after this event. I suggest to record this part. If anyone is thinking of buying an M3, this might be the deciding factor.

Oh - and a great lunch is also catered.

What vehicles did you use for the Car Control Class? The 1 and 2 Day M School uses M2, M3 and M4 only. I saw a lot of 340s just sitting there during our sessions, I'm guessing for the Car Control Class. The M Schools also have competitive timed events with prizes. The M School also comes with breakfast, lunch, one dinner, and cocktails at the end. We also get a rather nice jacket and other goodies.

340i for all events with the exception of slalom where everyone was driving M240.
