Any problems with rattles, creaks, squeaks etc.... on F3X's?
How is everyone getting on with their cars in terms of rattles, creaks, squeaks for both exterior and interior? When I bought my E90 new in Sept last year after about 3 months I had several issues with rattles (wont bore you with the details) and was wondering what the build quality is like for the F3X?

Ooooooh what I'd give for a rattle or a squeak.

All subjective of course, I notice rattles in my E82 where others don't; but I'm not expecting any issues in my F30. Test drove one for the weekend a few weeks back and it was solid as anything, though the dash and interior trim parts did creak a bit more (just when pressed) than my E92 which you just couldn't get a creak out of; but unless you go looking for them, I don't think you'll have any problems Dealers are usually pretty good at sorting them out anyway, at least mine has been in the past.

My wipers have developed a shudder/clunk at the very end of their journey to the bottom on the screen. It's bloody loud so I've emailed the dealers.
Of course if I lived in California then I wouldn't care about this! |

Odd you should mention that. A car broker I deal with at work mentioned problems with the wipers on the F30. You may have come across the very first 'known issue'. Congratulations!

As with AWF30's problem, shuddering is common on new glass new wiper blades, 3 months from now that issue will be non existant. |

Yup i have one and its driving me nuts- can't pin the bugger down! I think it's coming from the parcel shelf/ seat back on the passenger side and it seems to be getting worse.
I also have an annoying hum/thrum from the interior fan only really noticeable on the higher speeds but again p1ssing me off- may need to drop it in to the dealer to get it sorted other than that it's still a bleeding amazing car! |

General quality seems to be very good but no less than you would expect from a premium brand. Perhaps lacks some solidness of an Audi but exudes class especially with led interior lights so quality where you can see it if that makes sense.

Sounds like it could be the parcel shelf too. Mine was in for nearly a week having a new parcel shelf fitted (although mines an E90). This seemed to cure the clicking noise however, after a week the noise seems to be coming back.
I'm sure the F30 I had for a couple of days clicked as well once or twice. |

starting to sound like i'm whinging now but in the last week two new issues have popped up. really annoying creak/squeak coming from what i thought was the drivers seat, however I have narrowed it down to the rubber gaiter over the seat belt buckle, should be able to sort that out my self. The more worrying noise is coming from the fan- first time with high speed due to the weather and it sounds like a tumble dryer very very loud- definitely one for the dealer!

Had exactly the same problem with my seat belt buckle. You think its the seat at first but if you put your hand next to the buckle and underneath it, you can feel it vibrate at the same time as the noise and on mine was coming from the rubber gaiter underneath the seat belt receiver buckle.
To fix, simple spray a load of WD40 into the top of the buckle and it will find its way right down and into the rubber gaiter at the bottom. No need to take anything apart. |

Early days a few noises
Hi my first post and first new BMW since my e36 !
Done a 1000 miles so far brakes still squeeking when appplied and intermittent strange loud buzzing type noise upon switching engine off (cooling fan running on ?) Is this normal ? Apart from these niggles loving the car and the economy ! |
