Life's too short to be using winter tyres!

Spring is on the way this week with an Azores high pressure system on the way... looking like double figure temperatures will be here, certainly down this way.

It's a nice day so I'm going to put the pilot super sports back on

Was just toying with this idea myself. March has had it's fair share of snow in the past though...........

I know this week is going to be fine and then I'm away the one after that. So I'm chancing that the latter half of March is snow free. I think it's a safe bet!

Also contemplating going to the 19s shortly - looking forward to seeing if there's much improvement as I've had same width 18s with winter tyres since getting the car....

So far I've had non-RFTs and put up with cancelling the warning every start up

When I put the OEM 19s with RFTs on do I need to do anything in particular for the tyre pressure sensor or simply put them on?

Cheers

No way will I change to summers until mid to late April. There is too much winter to still to come. Be warned.

In Scotland maybe. It was 12 degrees in the south west today.

I've got 2 days off this week so will be putting my 403's back on this week for sure. Might treat her to a bit of Swissvax too.

Yup it's warm in the South West though for me, I tend to be on the road early & it's generally always below 5 degC.

I think I'll stick with them a while longer but I am very much looking forward to getting rid. They seem a much harsher ride than the summers; no doubt fitment of ACS springs exacerbated this!

Agreed, been thinking this since November.

As above, we are not allowed them on our company cars.

That said I have now been through 2 mild winters with the F30 and not had any issues down here in the Home Counties so all good so far and only another few weeks and temps should properly start lifting.

Still winter up here, woke to 40mm of snow this morning and snowing as I post. More due over the next 24 hours or so.

This winter has been a mixed affair up here. We've had more snow than average and temperatures are low, although varied with a few odd highs. Most of my trips have been below 5C, often just hovering above freezing. Lots of cold and wet, so winter (cold weather) tyres have been used well this winter, even if not directly on snow.

I know my heating bill is going to be up this time, even though we've had no really long periods below freezing, like some years.

First drive this morning and so glad I've switched back.

Car looks better
Handles better
Rides better

The sensation as you turn the wheel off centre is just so much better in feel and positivity.

xDrive AND winter tryes - on rails in any weather!

You got adaptive suspension? (just realised you have!) - question should now be have you tried with and without it on same car?
