My 3 yr old 428gc just got a check engine light today and last year I had the same thing when the temp was very cold. Is weird both times the CEL came during very cold temps. Last year dealer said it was thermostat.
Just checking here to see if its a common problem in freezing temps Both times with the CEL I also noticed ther temp gauge didnt go up (45 minute drive)

im also in Mass, so same temp. no CEL's from my car with this insane weather we're having. if your temp gage doesnt move within 45 mins i would think your thermostat might be stuck open. this morning in the -5 F weather my temp gage started to move within 15-20 mins of driving

When the thermostat is stuck open it takes the car longer to warm up. It isn't caused by cold weather, you just notice it cold weather because the heat doesn't come up as fast as usual. You can drive forever in warm temperatures and never know the difference.
