225/50R18 Tires on a F31 xDrive

I am looking at purchasing a set of BMW 400M wheels size 18x8. The wheels have a tire size of 225/50R18 on them as opposed to the stock 225/45R18. Is there any risk or issues with running this tire on my F31 xDrive. I know the speedometer will be a little off, but anything other than that I should be concerned with?

no risks

bmw speedos normally read high so speedo should be close to actual. taller gearing and heavier tires will lessen acceleration slightly (maybe not perceptible). higher profile is less pleasing to look at in appearance.

I was wondering about something like this myself, but the tire size is 225/60/18. I found a brand new set of winters very cheap this size. Was wondering if it would create any issues on stock wheels of my 2014 428i XDrive?

One size over won't make an appreciable difference. My snow tire set is similarly one size over, and it makes the speedo almost correct (1 mph rather than 3 mph).

Not sure I would go two sizes over, but it shouldn't cause any mechanical problems.

225/60-18 won't fit!

Those tires are 3" taller than OEM, that's more than 11 %.
