It's interesting seeing the crowd that the car attracts. I found myself getting a TON of comments by strangers, usually once or twice a week, when I had my Audi A6. Things like "Is that the Transporter car?" or "You have such a nice ass car, it's so sharp and classy." I also unfortunately heard "Is that the R8?" ...That guy must have not been the brightest crayon in the box.

Now with the F30, I don't really get many comments by strangers. I'm not sure why, probably because they look and see it's probably just a 3-series. I get a LOT if they are in the car, but nothing really from strangers yet, only fellow BMW enthusiasts have said something.

However, I will say this. I know damn well when I drive around my school campus, almost every head is turning. Whether it be the looks or the exhaust sound, almost every person looks as I drive by the bus stops around the campus or stop at stop signs.

So I think the BMW seems to attract the younger crowd a bit more than the Audi did. And I also think strangers seem more timid to say anything about the BMW more than the Audi.

Picked up my 435i GC today at the dealer (European delivery). On my way back got 2 thumbs up, one from a family in X5 and another from a couple of guys in brand new 335i.
Both on 95 South. I have never gotten any compliments on my honda toyota ever
This is great, people notice, but mostly other BMW drivers.
The car is awesome, I love it. Will have to learn to tame the beast, its hard not to speed.

The most compliments I ever got on a vehicle were when I owned a FX4 F150. Almost every time I drove it people commented on how nice of a truck it was. I even saw some guy walk up and spend 5 minutes looking it over while it was parked in my driveway, he was very interested in the undercarriage for some reason. Probably 10x the interest people show my Vette.

Then he actually stopped 20 feet past, walked back and really checked it out with a walk around like he was at the dealer. About the closest I've come to a compliment other than people checking it out on the road.
My wife and I were leaving the market last weekend. A couple was walking around and staring at my car, which is weird because F30's are a dime a dozen here. My wife politely asked "what the f*ck?" The couple proceeded to split up into a 640i and a C250. Now I understand why they were staring. I would want my car too.
Thats funny

That means shes interested in it as her next car

And he wants to drive it too?

Weird, I was about to comment that a clean FX4 F150 would undoubtedly get more comments where I live than my F30...then I realized you live in the exact same place as I do.

Trucks unlike a 3 Series, are a pretty rare sight around Arlington. How the hell do you park the thing without wanting to go crazy?

The most common comment I have received is, "Is that a M3."

I simply smile, and reply, no but I wish!

I get this a lot.

I've also noticed that the only people who really comment/compliment are guys/car guys. Most ladies don't know/care enough to notice, especially since my care is black/black. I like it that way though.

At that time I lived less than a mile to work so I walked almost everywhere. I put 3000 miles on it in 2 years, mostly to drive to Summit Point and back, then sold it. I almost never drove it around Arlington unless we needed to haul something.

It had backup sensors, so I was able to maneuver it decently from time to time. My truck...

When I wave to other bros in F30s, they don't wave back.

My "complements" are always shot down. : this guy in my area with an E30 ALWAYS waves though.

I've had my 4 Series Gran Coupe on the road for 14 days, I have received unsolicited comments from strangers on 12 of those days.

This never happened in my F30.
