CEL post-coding & KOMBI CAFD read error

I went to code my 2014 F30 yesterday evening, and in reading the CAFD files, I got the following error for KOMBI:

Code:
Transaktions-Report: Aktion: Codierdaten lesen

KOMBI [60] [F720116]
readCPS o.k.
cafd_000009c8-006_000_030 Fehler:
NCD read from ECU "ECUId:KOMBI_0x60" for CAF "cafd_000009c8-006_000_030" failed! [C069]
Error processing XML data [1660]
I dismissed it, and did some coding in other FA modules. It seemed to go okay, but now the CEL is on. No defects noted with driving, etc. I reverted back to the default coding (using the backups I took ;-) ) until I can get everything all happy. Any way to clear it? I see threads referring to some software tools, but I can't locate a good reliable source for them. Would also like to fix the KOMBI error.

Thanks in advance!

It's a know bad CAFD file (it's all NUL bytes).

You can either try injecting a newer CAFD file into the ECU (Shawns method), or send me a PM with your e-mail address and I can help you out.

You can clear the CEL in E-Sys :

Click "External Applications" in the left menu.
Click "External Application"
Double-click "Transmitter"
Scroll to the bottom and double-click "... Clear all DTCs ..."

Awesome - I'll shoot you a PM here in a minute. I'll have to venture down to the garage at work and clear that CEL though. I'd like it gone so if it reappears then I know there's a legit problem or not.

I noticed that you have a 328d. I've coded the KOMBI on two of these and the CEL would always come up whenever you make any coding changes to KOMBI.

I think there's some sort of sensor on the cluster that needs a specific reading otherwise it will come up with that CEL. I've only seen this happen on the F30 328d. The first car I coded took about a week for it to go away and the other one I coded took about half a day.

I wasn't able to clear these with Tool32 but they will clear on their own after a while guaranteed.

Yeah I noticed that it was right after that. Just wonder if things are not in sync when that particular system restarts. I was able to clear it following the instructions here. Was odd that I couldn't find it anywhere!
