I realized this when i was backing up into some metal board and there was a reflection which then screwed up the night vision (over exposed everything)

I noticed this phenomenon after I cleaned the car, and the green hue has persisted ever since.
The car will be into the dealer in the next couple of days to address this issue and an issue with chipped paint paint on the rear bumper where the boot lid closes (poor fitting in the factory).
The car has done only 1300 kms.
Update on my "green" reversing camera issue.

The camera was taken apart and examined. A scratch was found on the lens, which was thought to be diffusing the light (creating the 'green' hue in the light spectrum). The scratch was polished out and a 'hard coat' applied to the lens. After re-adjusting the brightness and contrast, the problem appears to have been resolved. In time, we'll see if this is true.
How the scratch got onto the lens is a mystery to me, as the car has not been abused, and has only been washed twice by hand with soft chamois leathers.

Probably a cat decided to have some fun with it while the owner was sleeping lol. Jk

I think the lens focussing is perhaps faulty, sitting in a dark spot, car in reverse, foot firmly on the brake, the image goes from dark, to bright, dark, bright. It appears that it is trying to focus but cant... quite annoying when reversing at night when the screen goes dark.. anyone else experienced this?

During the daylight, camera is perfect.

Not sure if this link to a short vid of my camera will work... if it it does, will give you an idea what I am on about.

I was told it was normal... If thats the case, ill take the camera from my old G6E.
Please check the camera lens. if its blurry and foggy, it needs to be changed. If its not, You can order aftermarket with higher quality and replace it with original cam. if you need detailed instruction please contact www.carkitmasters.com.au

I drive a 2014 428i (Alpine White), unfortunately it appears to be more of an issue for the white cars at night as the camera will focus on the white areas.

I found it to be like 9% effective to put some black tape over the reverse camera just enough to cover the area of your white rear boot that appears in the camera.

P.S…. I know it’s not ideal, but when it comes to being able to see/not see at night while reversing it’s something worthwhile.
