Might also add adaptive suspension, as I want the most comfortable ride possible (only went for M-sport as the contract hire rate was much better than other specs for some odd reason). Any other suggestions ? Should I start another thread ?
Hi, when did you order yours and have you been given a delivery date as interested to see how it compares with mine.

Ordered 17/08/12 - Current Delivery Date - 10/12/12

Has anyone seen a review from any of the car magazines or journalists on the F30-330d as I have searched everywhere but cannot find a thing.

No, absolutely zilch from "professional" reviewers. Bizarre.

Perhaps they have been warned to hold back for a while before they kill the sales of the petrol versions.

Could be true, however the 328i petrol is quite a fair bit cheaper than a 330d, so people really wanting a petrol may not be deterred anyway.

I have spent 10 years in diesel BM's and never owned a petrol version.

However, after watching steve sutcliffes review of the 328i i was so tempted to try a petrol especially with claims of 44mpg but looking through the threads it would appear that is an unrealistic figure. I have seen claims of real world figures varying from 20mpg to 40mpg. 30 to 40 is acceptable but low 20's is definately not and I am tied in for 2 years this time so took the safe option.

Also, with regards to the 328i, I read it doesn't feel as punchy as a diesel (ie 330d) even though the performance figures are similar on paper.
I don't doubt it is as quick as certainly a E90 330d, but you cant beat the torque of a diesel for that feeling of pulling power

I had a very brief test drive in a F30 320d and it felt better than my 530d due to the instant response it had. If the 330d feels like that but exagerated it should be a cracker.

I cant wait to try it.

I think I have read on here somewhere that you get a different i-drive nob if you don't have the nav.

Does anyone know if that is the case and if so what the difference is?

Was the low 20's mpg reading from an American owner? Their gallons aren't the same volume as the British gallons, so their mpg readings always seem worse.

Possibly, but from memory there was a larger % in the 20's than in the 30's or 40's with a lot claiming to spend time in eco or being lite footed ??

I think a deciding factor for me was that even though I don't drive that hard I have the freedom be as heavy footed as often as i want with a diesel without affecting the mpg to much.

Still not many comments about the F30 330d performance. Is it not that good?

Performance on paper certainly seems damn impressive....but you are right, no one has said much about it here. More is being said about MPG!!!!! :

I'm sure the performance is great. We know the F30 is a lot lighter than the F10, and we know the 3 litre lump gives good performance in the F10, so it can't really fail to impress in the F30. But it is weird how none of the usual sites - Autocar, Auto Express, Evo, MSN, Top Gear, What Car, Parkers, AA, etc etc - have a 330d road test yet, even though many of them said at launch of the F30 something along the lines of "surely the forthcoming 330d will be the best car in the world".
