For me, engine longevity is key...if I was leasing, I'd Burger it. I own, so I'm PPK'ing it.

Sweet Jesus

The trick is to find someone with enough experience doing this at a regular price. I called a dealership who had never heard of the F30 PPK but they were charging about $200 for the install. I am not sure I want to take my car to those guys although they have a good rate.

I think anything over $1,300 (with DME, 1,200 w/out DME) is over the top

Yes - the PPK is $1250 MSRP. They quoted a little lower than that, but then included 3 hours of labor at $145/hr.

It's not necessary, at 300/300 the car is good enough.

The only way I justify this from a price perspective is there are very few cars that offer this level of performance for the money. Per BMW the x drive will run 0-60 in 4.6s after the PPK.

It would have made it comfortably in this list.

http://wot.motortrend.com/top-7-quic...00-352309.html

That's good company, given the ones currently on the list are dedicated sports cars (except for the 300).

I just thought I'd mention for all the Toronto/GTA readers that I have worked out a pretty good deal with T+C in Markham.

PM me if you are interested in getting in on the offer. It's the cheapest Canadian pricing I have seen on the forums.

Call Roxbury BMW and tell them what Mo-town quoted you. Although they are still under the open road group I bet that they undercut Morristown.

Let me know what comes of it.

Update

Order placed 4/8
Email for shipping received 4/16
Estimated arrival date 4/17

Now shopping for dealer who knows how to install the PPK with DME. Cost is no longer the primary concern now given some dealers have no idea what to do with DME.

Hope to get it installed within the next week.

I was just quoted $1,600 parts and labor.. and that is with a 20% CCA discount. Giving them a chance to come back with a better quote (not sure if they have installed any PPK's yet.)

Either way, I am gonna hold off until they sort out any issues with the DME cars (mine)

I was quoted $1770 in Illinois. That's $1250 (the MSRP) and the rest is install & programming for my pre Nov-2012 build.

Got a dealership in Missouri looking up pricing now as well.

With a 20% discount? So over 1900 before the CCA break? What a complete strategized rip off.

They also charged me $2500 for the M-Performance interior.. I am beginning to see a pattern.

I live about 3 hours from Houston where I have family (which is also big enough to have competitors,) so I will get my work done there.

i was under 1200$ installed. 935 plus tax for the kit (tischer price match) and around 200 dollars Plus tax for installation including download and misc parts disposal fee (which was probably nothing since i got the original parts back after the install anyhow). basically it was under 1/2 hour of install time and most of the install fee was a flat coding fee. this was through BMW of Sterling, VA.

I had the jb3 on the f30 as well as Procede, Cobb, BMS, on my previous 335i. I'm surprised too but the 8at equipped mppk car feels right up there with all of them only is much more responsive and smooth. No lag and instant deep pull. I'm pretty shocked. I've been driving on it for a bit and it feels even faster now instead of feeling slower from getting used to it. You said 3 times more power from jb3? Haha, drive one then decide. You'll be very surprised too. 320 HP and 332 torque my ass, feels more like 360 and 380 crank with the way my car shreds the tires, on an oem tune to boot!

I think BMS makes an awesome tune and very inexpensive. I loved my jb3. This mppk is just much more impressive. I'd suggest driving one if possible before downing it. This is coming from a pro aftermarket tuning person. It's severely underrated and more than just more boost.
