Little WMI leak over the HK amp

So these last two weeks while driving, I had two separate instances where my audio would start cutting out, eventually going silent.

The head unit would be functioning, but all chimes/gongs/audio was gone.

Last week, after a day, audio came back and i seemed to be in a good spot. Then this morning, my audio died out again on me.

I decided to do a bit of investigation and noticed that I had leaked some boostjuice in the compartment on the driver side rear corner. In that compartment is where I have my line running from my tank to a filter before it goes towards the front of my car.

Im crossing my fingers audio comes back tomorrow, but after drying this guy off, checking fuses, and resetting the HU, still nothing.

I took apart the amp and noticed some slight corrosion near two of the MOSFETs. I don't believe it's enough to cause an issue, but i plan on adding some flux tomorrow to make sure that the legs have a solid connection. Hopefully the pad is still intact.

Outside of that, I don't see any areas of concern/burn/etc

Any other thoughts to consider ?

Even corrosion invisible to the naked eye can be fatal to amp components.

That's definitely not good for a piece of precision electronics like an audio amp. With the leakage of chemical liquid and the subsequent audio issues I think it's safe to assume a short circuit occurred.

Welp, luck was on my side. Cleaned up the corrosion with a brush and some acetone. After having the amp outside the car for 24 hours I plugged it back in... Audio is back!

Let's see how she holds up over time
