Correct.
Perhaps, but expensive. I do not believe the car comes pre-wired. After market is an option. If the car is merely on order, have you considered changing the order to add what you want? |

It is not the alarm that stops people from stealing the car, it is the immobiliser. All BMWs have that. I wouldn't pay for an alarm nowadays.

I don't think this applies to F30s...just E9Xs, F01s, E8xs, etc with a production date before September 2010.

$400 for an audible alarm everyone ignores is a waste of money for these cars.

bmw tracking
A hidden transmitter module is automatically activated in the event of theft. It regularly transmits the current location of the vehicle to the BMW Tracking Call Centre. So your connection to your BMW is never broken - not even by thieves.
There are two ways that the alarm can be activated: when you as the owner realise that your BMW has been stolen, you can simply call the specially-authorised BMW Tracking Call Centre number. Alternatively, the module automatically activates itself the moment your BMW's anti-theft system has been triggered. In order to prevent false alarms, the BMW Tracking Call Centre will first attempt to make contact with the owner to confirm the theft. |

No idea about the F30, but my E90 door locks are LOUD. They, together with the car's flashing lights are a very good audible (and visual) confirmation of the car locking. Been perfect for me for the past 7 years.
I haven't purchased an alarm for any of my 3 BMWs that I have owned. Not buying one for the F30 either.

I guess it's more of a personal quirk/habit/compulsion for me- whenever I park outside the house (too lazy to move my motorcycle, garage is messy, etc) I click the lock button from my bedroom before bed to hear the "beep" just to confirm it's locked, just for some peace of mind...kind of silly, but I've been doing it for years and years...even in other previous houses.
