Everytime I connect my iPhone 5 via Lightning to my Car ... Bluetooth Audio lost!
Everytime I connect my iPhone 5 via the Lightning Cable to my Car ... Bluetooth Audio is lost (literally can't stream audio via bluetooth) unless I unpair and re-pair my phone w/ my car (which is super annoying). Why does it diable? is there any way to re-establish the Bluetooth Audio option without having to re-pair every time???
Does this happen w/ the iPhone 4?

Yep, it happens with every iPhone. You don't have to repair every time, just enable audio from Bluetooth options.

The car has two discreet inputs for iPhone music from the iPod app:
1. Audio via USB 2. Audio via Bluetooth The car can't handle having the same app provide audio to two separate inputs at the same time, so it decides that when you plug into USB you want audio over USB and it shuts off Bluetooth. You need to go into iPhone settings and re-enable (not re-pair) Bluetooth audio when you disconnect it from the cable. Not a good situation, but it's what it is. With my F30 and the Tech package and the iPhone 5, I get a message on the screen that says "You are now connected via USB so I'm shutting your Bluetooth off". BJ |

Email is a bit more tricky. Unfortunately, every time you start the car you need to go into email settings on the iPhone and change the number of notifications just to wake the phone up and get it to reconnect to iDrive. One major thing that gets overlooked is this: In order for the iPhone to make a notification sound for incoming texts in the car you need to have Bluetooth audio turned off. If its on, you won't hear a sound telling you that you have a message. BJ |

I have never been able to get messages and email on iphone 5 to work with my 2013 F30 (with tech pkg) to work. I think I have tried almost all possible options.
Btw, do iMessages work? |
