BMW Individual - Cohiba/Corillo Brown
Has anyone spec'd the BMW Individual Cohiba or Corillo Brown upholstery on their F30/F31? I am considering it for an F31 MSport in Mineral Grey.
This is mainly because i will be keeping the car a long time and I have read a number of negative comments about the perceived quality/durability of the standard leather but also i am after something a bit different. Any thoughts on the combination with MG and pictures would be appreciated. |

I had Cohiba brown individual leather on my e93 convertible, and I loved the colour, but the problem with the leather was on the drivers seat where you rub against it as you got in and out it wore away very quickly! I had it professionally re done but still came back. But as I said it was a great colour and went very well with the piano black inlay as well, and I I sapphire black bodywork.

Here are some images of what I suppose is Criollo on a dark car.

To the OP:
IMO. Out of the two Individual Leathers you mention: Criolla Brown Leather without a doubt and it is also my favourite Individual Leather. Be careful when choosing the external colour with this. You need a contrast. Alpine White, Glacier Silver or Moonstone come to mind. Latter my choice out of these three. However, colourwise, my favourite is still Coral Red Dakota leather aided by my other favourite: Estoril Blue II. However, Dakota Leather texture has much to be desired. So top leather out of BMW's meagre list for M-Sport F30s, taking account of colour and texture, is Criolla Brown Leather aided by Moonstone. Expensive combination. But is it worth it?

just found this one of the Criollo, but without the white stitching. Would go well with the gloss black and the mineral grey IMO, but that's over £1500 of extras...hmmm.
Worth switching from 330d to 328i to fit in budget? |

That would be one real crazy thing to do. Stick with a 330d M Sport. It's the engine which counts more than the leather if it comes down to choice. Anyway, Dakota Leather and Individual Leather will look just as worn out after a year or so. So, save your money for other options.

I nearly went for Criollo Brown, looks very tempting but wouldn't really have matched with Tanzanite. In my experience Merino looks and feels so much better than Dakota, and lasts better too. For me it is a no brainer.

It will make a big difference to the feel of the car. Dakota is a hard wearing leather but is no where near as luxurious as Merino leather.
But I wouldn't go 330 - 328 for it. Mat
