Anyone knows when assist will come to more countries?
I went through a lot of pain with all the connected drive and apps setups, including getting an iphone (which is totally useless).
Now, I realize that the only thing I need (BMW assist) isn't supported in Sweden. Doh! Anyone knows when this will become available in more counties? Need to know if I can go back to using a real phone... |

I got the exact same problem. The stupid dealer never mentioned that BMW Assist wasnt available in Sweden...
He also let me think the iphone snap-in adapter was included if you opt for the "Music connection for smartphones" or whatever its called in english... All those other BMW Apps are a joke, you get bored with them after 2 days and never use again. Mostly because starting them is such a pain in the ... Ahh the things we put up with just to drive a BMW |

Actually, I'm somewhat happy that it sucks as much as it does.
Now I can throw away that crappy iPhone and order a Galaxy S III 4G. The Assist thing I'd probably use most if it were available, is the ability to send a destination to the car from Google Maps. I see that it can be done through USB, but you can only send a route -not a destination. Is that really the case? I did that the other day, and as I didn't start the nav directly when leaving the start of the route, it wanted me to turn back and redo the whole trip! |
