confused about windows open/close coding
I have a 2017 F32 and the coding has never been changed. As I would expect, if I press and hold the unlock button, the 2 windows and the sunroof will open.
If they are open and I press and hold the lock button, I would expect them to close after locking the doors, but they do not. When I look at the coding reference I found here, it looks like both open and close are not active by default. This is confusing to me. However, the most important thing to me is that the mirrors should not unfold when I unlock the doors, either by the handle of by the fob. At night, I park very near a concrete wall. I back in most of the way using the mirrors, but then I need to fold in the mirrors before backing up the last 6 feet. If the mirrors unfolded, the one by the wall would be damaged. |

My windows close when I hold the lock button down. Leave your mirror coding alone, since you fold them before locking the car. They won't unfold when you unlock the car, they will once you reach a set speed, 6 MPH as I recall.

I saw something indicating that newer U.S. cars no longer close off the FOP. The change results from fear of a lawsuit if a closing window or sunroof injures someone stupid enough to hang a body part out of a window

Same here in Germany, they must have changed the coding from the 435 to the 440 and I havent took a look into the specs until yet. For my 435 I set all limitations offline and were be able to operate windows and sunroof my way.
On the other hand its a matter of your insurance: If you change the coding and someone got harmed caused by this, you would charged for this and got surely no further support.

Another instance of trying to idiot proof, which is fruitless, as God keeps creating better idiots, despite the best efforts of said idiots in self-culling the herd. It makes no sense anyway, you're not likely to have someone in the car hanging out the window when you're out of the car locking it.

I had to code my 2013 BMW 335xi F30 to close the windows and sunroof with the key fob. The mirror folds, I haven't really paid attention but I think the mirror unfolds when I unlock.

Thanks. I am looking at the F30_coding_reference v1.7 from this forum. Does this mean I should expect to currently see KOMFORTOEFFNUNG_FB set to "aktiv" and and KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB set to "nicht_aktiv"? (reference shows both default as "nicht_aktiv".) I assume I would want to change them both to "aktiv".
Thue? Thanks again |

Set all _FB (Keyfob) to aktiv if you want it to work. _PA for Comfort Access. |
