I have not had any issues with the adaptive lights after coding. They still auto-level and pivot during turns and the auto-high-beams still work. |

frogman,
thanks for clarifying, I too got the same error whenever trying to code "fem_body" . how do I test if my adaptive head lights still work? I tested by parking in the garage with the head light on, I was able to see the lights turns as I turned the steering wheel; however I tested again this morning and the light didnt turn. so now im confused.. |

I'm looking to start from scratch and make my whole car as if I just bought it. Do I just open esys, activate FA, and right click on each ecu and click code? Will that return everything to stock? Thank you!

You can VO Code the entire car one module at a time, or you could use Ctrl-Right-Click and select multiple ECU's to Encode, or you could even Right-Click at the Top of your SVT where your VIN is showing, and encode the entire SVT (all ECU's). If you try and encode DME Module, or the entire SVT (which includes the DME module), the car can not be running during the encoding process.

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Ctrl-Right-Click on all ECU's (the ECU's themselves not the underlying CAFD's) except DME => Select CODE. This of course assumes you never altered your FA (VO) and wrote it to the car. If you did that, then you would instead load original FA (VO) in place of Read FA.

I did alter 6nh to 6nk. Would I just edit it back and once that's done just follow your instructions above?
Also, when you say above "read fa(vo)", why do you out vo? I would just click on read FA and then activate FA like normal, correct? Is there a differenc between read FA and read fa(vo)? Thank you and sorry for all the questions, |

I write FA (VO) just to clarify that FA (Fahrzeug-Auftrag) is German for VO (Vehicle Order), as some are not aware the two are the same thing.

adaptive head light can be tested rather easily, you just need a wall (or something similar to look at the light)... you can visibly see the light turn right when you steer right (for LHD vehicle)...and turn back to centre when you move the wheel back to centre... just make sure the light switch is set to "A" (Auto)

I said to ignore DME because I wanted you to have the engine running to ensure proper voltage, and you cant code DME with the engine running, and I was 99.99% sure you never FDL Coded DME to begin with, so it did not need to be reset anyhow.

Shawn- everything reset successfully. However, I spent some time putting my settings back and coding. However my cat acts as if I didn't do any coding. When I bring it up in esys, it shows my changes though. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I assume you mean CAS? What FDL Coding is specifically not taking?

When you save the changes, and write them back to the ECU, and then read the ECU again, were the changes saved, or did they revert back to their original settings?

hey shawn,
Would you happen to know of the top of your head if a '13 F25 X3 can be coded with the same cable and software as my F30? I'm assuming yes? Thanks! |

Immediately after resetting everything back to stock, I started coding. I'm going to be checking shortly to see if the changes saved after connecting to my car...
