Head-up display question

I've just got my F30 with the HUD, and I find - in my normal seating position - the display is a little blurry. Only if I physically stretch up high in my seat, will the HUD then go fully into focus and be 100% sharp. But it's not the height of the HUD (changeable in iDrive) that is the issue, as I've tried moving it up and down and it's still the same (slightly blurred), and my seat would have to be moved up way too high for me to be permanently able to see it in 100% focus.

I wonder if my dealer will be able to adjust it somehow so that this level of 100% focus is a bit lower?

Mine is crystal clear. If you just picked it up,then I'd probably just take it into the dealer.

Two things I can think of:

1) Is there anything on the inside of the front windshield or is it dirty or does it have a film on it?

2) Maybe the HUD display isn't properly seated in the dashboard.

Maybe the HUD projector in the dash needs to be wiped down? If you want to try use a slightly damp microfiber cloth. No chemicals. Or, take to dealer and let them sort it out.

Compare to another car and make sure its not your eyes.

Thanks guys; I will give the inside of the windscreen and the projector a gentle wipe to make sure they're both 100% clean; but I don't think it's that (or my eyesight ) as it does go 100% into focus when I stretch up in my seat. The dealer doesn't have any other cars (even 7s etc) with the HUD, I couldn't even see it before I ordered it!

It's not a major thing, no doubt some people may not notice it; but as it goes fully into focus only when I strain in my seat to see it, I'd prefer it to be like that in my normal seating position, if at all possible! I will do the cleaning, then if still no good, see if the dealer can adjust the projector...

If driving at night, I can also see the rectangular shape of the actual HUD display/background - in sort of a grey colour - in the windscreen, ie not just the HUD text itself - is that the same with you guys?

I can see the gray box too when the brightness is turned up. When I do, I just turn the brightness down until it disappears.
