Another massive thanks to Teaston's and Shawnsheridan.

Got it up and running this evening.

One little transient glitch to report in case it helps others.

When idrive rebooted, office function was available. I deleted my Bluetooth pairing, then added it as a fresh connection. However initially, it only gave me the options for allowing phone and audio when configuring it in Bluetooth options section.

I was a bit downcast at this point but I went in to the office menu and lo and behold my messages were all listed.

I went back to Bluetooth configuration screen and the the options for office and 2nd phone functions were highlighted and already ticked! Strange.

My phone is a blackberry Z10


UPDATE:

this morning for some reason, the car still shows the emails, texts etc fine, but the bluetooth config screen has reverted back to how it was when I first did it. A phone issue I suspect, Office function is still working

Emails have never worked on my iphone 5 & 5s

According to the BMW bluetooth compatibility checker every office function won't work with the S5 even with pro nav and ebt! So looks like you're lucky to even get sms!

I've never found a way to do it. The whole office thing just seems to rushed and still needs loads of work, but there doesnt seem to be any updates!

Hi, I need some help please!

I've just tried to code EBT on my new 4 series (came with Pro-Media and Connected Drive, so I switched the option to 6NL).

I followed the steps in the first post in this thread, and the PDF guide that came with the ESys software (the "change FA with esys"). This all worked fine.

I have coded 6NL to the car and when I read the options back it's definitely there.

But, when I move onto the steps in teaston's first post - step 4 - there's a problem.

I right click on HU_NBT and click Code, and the coding window comes up. However I get the following:

You have a post 0713 build car. You should be using 6NS, not 6NL.

Yes, do as I last instructed you. Change 6NL to 6NS and VO Code Head Unit.

If you have Pro Nav, then you have a Combox, and the answer is Yes, you can code EBT.

Well huge thanks to shawnsheridan for getting this working for me!

Quick question, under;

In idrive go to 'telephone' => 'Bluetooth telephone' => highlight your phone => press option or click right => go down and select 'configure Bluetooth'


What does the "Telephone 2" option mean? Do I tick this only for the other phone I want connected? (I need 2 phones on BT to make/receive calls)

*edit* Actually I'm more confused, now both my phones have "phone 2" ticked! Is there an easy way to switch between them when I want to make a call on one or the other? Is there a voice command or shortcut I can add to my shortcut buttons for this?

About 3 months ago I successfully coded EBT. I have a Feb 2014 F31 with prof nav and connected drive. It worked first time, option of BT audio and phone 1&2.

Then I went into BMW site and noticed an update for software so flashed that with USB in car. Then... Bought an iPhone 6. I know only have BT audio and phone1!

I changed back to 6NH from 6NS I had coded, then redid with a VO code to HU_NBT. Still only phone1 and BT audio. I have full voice, Siri & messages, but no phone2.

Any ideas? Shawn? Teaston?

Also I FDL coded loads, so easy and great fun. I put up the merry Christmas STARTUP_EMBLEM for my son, but I have only seen it after the HU restarted post-coding. When should I or how can I make it appear??

For EBT, from memory I think you also need to flash the media box, for NBT it'll be called something 32 in the name
