Sport Displays Readout Limited to Factory Advertised HP/TQ Numbers :(

I was curious whether it would, and apparently it does not.

I have a newly installed bms jb4 on my 328i wagon and while it's certainly livened it up a lot, the sport displays still only show that I max out at 240 hp.

Although, interestingly enough it seems like the ticker that shows the power "live", was bouncing against the limiter that bound it to read a maximum of 240.

Not that I figured this display was showing an actual and accurate read out of the horse power, I assumed it was all algorithmically calculated based on throttle depression or something. Or perhaps a gyro that "senses" inertia.

Either way, I was hoping for something here, but I guess not!

Perhaps this light lend to a better ability to discern what the computation is based on?

Anyone else know? Might be an interesting thread.

+1. Just entertainment guages - really quite useless. I would rather have some real imperical information like boost pressure and maybe coolant temperature.

How do you get that weather split screen? Looks like a cool thing.

Wait, how do you have time and weather displayed with the sport display?

It's one of the "Online Widgets" available in the second-screen display menu. Something like connected services or connected apps, I forget what it's named. Cool little app. Changes temperatures with your current location as you drive.

Yep. That's it. Just push the idrive knob to the right, split screen content, scroll down and I think it's called Online Widgets.

It's pretty handy.
