Status: Pi55ed off.

Update: Emailed the dealer asking they approach BMW for goodwill. Heard feck all (almost 2 weeks ago now).
Contacted BMW UK via social media and told tough luck, sh!t happens.

Need to write a formal letter of complaint but just cannot be bothered with it. All enthusiasm for the car has gone.

Dam. This sucks Grant.

I can barely wait 6 days for a car. I've almost certainly decided to buy showroom cars from now on, the wait is too long.

It will look fantastic once it's here though Grant. You still going to wait it out? Must be a minimum another few months you think, pure speculation though of course without updates, grrrrr.

Stick it out and chalk it up to experience - it will be worth the wait - guaranteed

Thanks guys

In deference to what I said above, I am actually looking forward to getting the car, it's just the experience with both the dealer and BMW UK which has put me off. I feel like the dealer isn't interested in my cause and that BMW couldn't give a stuff about me as a customer. Extremely disappointing.

Latest status is actually that it's been brought forward by a week (now due build wk34, delivery wk37) although I'm not holding my breath...

So with a week 34 build you should get VIN assigned in the next week

I would still write a letter of how disappointed you are with the whole thing detailing the lack of sympathy from online support. One car is obviously nothing for bmw but you may get something from them.

So according to both Genius and BMW Customer Service, my car is due to be built next week. I am, however, still at Status 1200. Not sure when this will move forward, but expect it to be soon.

According to Genius I'm on for a week 37 delivery (week commencing 12th Sept) however BMW Customer Services seem to think I will get the car the week before. We will see.

As for my dealer, well it's been 2.5 weeks since I last contacted them with regards to my order and...I've heard nothing. Let's just hope they've got an M3/M5 lined up as a loaner for me...

Once it goes int build things can move really quickly.

My car was scheduled for production WC 25/7 and when I checked on 10/8 it was at the dealers!

Good news Grant, very happy for you. It has been a long road!

If the build really is next week then you should have it by the week commencing the 5th Sept I think, if it moves as fast as mine did.

They delivered my car to the dealers on the 14th July and it was supposed to be built in week 27 (4th July). I was surprised it managed to go through build and be delivered in 10 days or less. Extremely lucky that the delay meant it just squeezed into My17 with iDrive 5

Grant, my 440 is also due to be built next week with week 37 delivery. My dealer expects to receive the car between the 10th & 15th September. The production code is also still at 1200 as of this morning.

Finally! Mine stayed at 1200 until actual date it went into production.
