Try selecting one of the other options until you find the one that will allow you to erase the fault memory error and still function. Difficult to tell without knowing all your options on the car.

Assuming you selected "erase fault memory" button below in between coding correct?

Try typing NSL_VERBAUT in the search function. It may be in another folder.

Tried searching NSL_VERBAUT in all folders and even in all CAFD and still can't find it .

My firmware might be old (never updated since 2012 ) so any other code at FEM BODY for older Firmware ?

I would use the latest files. I kept getting errors while using older files. Also, I also have found some functions are in different section folders.

I just performed this tonight. It's super easy to remove the control unit itself. Literally took me 2 min. The hardest part would be removing the plastic tabs that prevent the button from moving inwards to activate the switch. The best method I came up with was using a very sharp box cutter. I was able to cut the pieces off clean from the button.

Big thanks for the DIY

I took a look at Ebay UK and saw that their headlight switches have both front and rear fog light switches and and extra rotating wheel on right side of switch, What is that for? What would it effect on USA and Canadian cars?

I think the rotating wheel is for halogen headlights in Europe. It lets you adjust the height of the beam according to your overall load as to not blind oncoming traffic.

I haven't tried yet, i was only able to code
FEM_BODY / 3060 LCEMaster 1C / NSL_Verbaut = Verbaut

and since:
REM / 3063 LCELampMapping 2 / Mapping_Nebelschlussl_L_output = nsl_l
REM / 3063 LCELampMapping 2 / Mapping_Nebelschlussl_L_Function = nebelschlusslicht
REM / 3063 LCELampMapping 2 / Mapping_Nebelschlussl_R_output = nsl_l
REM / 3063 LCELampMapping 2 / Mapping_Nebelschlussl_R_Function = nebelschlusslicht
is not available so i don't know how to code it for the lci rear fog light. thanks gabreigns...i will give it a try and see if it work and post here later

using this guide for "unlocking" the F/R fog light buttons, I was able to add BOTH to the wife's 2014 F30 Msport.

Some extra coding was needed to activate the L/R front fog channels on the FEM_BODY computer, but once done, the factory switch is now completely functional!

Awesome thread, it inspired me to retrofit the fogs on the '14 msport f30.

Hi,

I changed out the the lightswitch in my 2014 F30 for the European variation (BMW part: 61 31 9 265 303) that I got from ECS Tuning. I did all of the coding needed to activate rear fog and lights and switch worked fine; however, I also got an error in Rheingold, basically saying I had the incorrect light switch.

To correct this, I was advised earlier elswhere in this forum to code the following:
FEM_BODY> 3064 LCECONFIGURATION> LCE_BEL_LIN_VAR from BEL_FLC_NSW (4) to BEL_FLC_NSL (6)

Having done that, however, I still got the same error in Rheingold. I noticed that there are a number of options that you can code for this function -- only wished my German was better.

Perhaps someone can help

Thank you very much

I experienced the same thing- the switch and the coding worked fine, but it interfered with the auto dimming function and the headlight washer function. Of course, i didn't realize it at the time till I saw your post. The dealer put the original headlight switch back on and reprogrammed the computer back to default. Will follow and see what you come up with and what additional settings need to be changed so you don't get an error on Rheingold, then I can reinstall the euro switch. Thanks.

EDIT:

Looks like the coding should be:
FEM_BODY> 3064 LCECONFIGURATION>BEL_FLC_NSW_NSL

For instance, I have an F32 without front fog lights with adaptive LED's. I had to code FEM_BODY to clear the fault memory in Rheingold:

FEM BODY 3064 => LCE_BEL_LIN_VAR => BEL_FLC_NSL (default was BEL_FLC)

The fault never created a CEL, but it was present (wrong light operating unit wrong variant installed fault code D90D16) when I ran Rheingold.
I finally did this. Thanks for your pointers. No more faults in Rheingold.

TMDals0213,

Well worth while! There are several threads elsewhere in this listing that are extremely helpful!

As was stated contact ShawnSheridan for needed data (called PSdZData) & program (called E-Sys); then on another thread contact either TokenMaster or Almaretto to get a version of E-Sys Launcher which enables you to "understand" the data files -- since BMW has now elected to truncate them (they do not list names of functions and codes).

Hope that helps!
