Plasti Dip your kidney grills?

I just thought of any alternative way to quickly turn my kidney grills to gloss or matte black for under $20 rather than the $150 for the performance grills and labor. Has anyone took this route and whats the outcome?
The only issue I can think of is behind the grills.... would I need to cover it up behind the grills? If so where can I access that? (I havent check)

THANKS EVERYONE

I am planning to do it when it gets a little warmer. You need to cover up the area behind the grills with cardboard.

Do it. Looks great, easy to remove if you screw it up. No drawback, really.

The grills are pretty tight for a trash bag to fit in there isn't it. and it will be hard to keep it from touch the grills once its behind.

I had my entire F30 dipped at 6 Speed Motorsports and they only masked the glass and peeled off the areas that I didn't want the plastic dip on it. I did matte white with black grilles and wheels.

Just take them out, spray them and refit. Simple.
