Totally! I've had lots of times where I was sure I was going to get a speeding ticket after blowing by a unit watching traffic on the freeway only to not have anything happen at all.

Nobody ever suspects the wagon, kind of like nobody ever suspects the butterfly.

The Windy City chapter of BMW CCA is pretty large/active. Does IL have vanity plates? If so, have your chapter's president contact ours here in the National Capital Chapter about how to make it happen. Good luck!

Good luck chaps! They're super cool! Nice in PA as only rear plate!

Great timing! Being worked on as we speak, as soon as I get it back.

Actuator or latch issue on front passenger door lock, not something I want to try on my own. I use German Auto Specialists in Plymouth Meeting or B & W Auto Service in Wyndmoor (neighborhood place, walking distance) depending on need. If you have any positive or negative experience would love to hear it.

I'll date myself by saying Wayne is great, I used to go to Taquet in the Wayne Hotel regularly.

I've used the dealer mostly. The vert only does a couple thousand a year tops. Bavarian Specialties in KOP gets good reviews, and some negative ones too.

Thompson in Doylestown is worth the drive for anything out of the ordinary. They're a Dinan dealer and the head mechanic is a real gear head.

Lyons detailing in Wayne is great if you need that sort of thing done.

Lyon's is a good contact... thanks.... I may get a paint correction done on the vert...

Well paint I'd make recommendations on your goals for the repair. Thompson is good for things like scrape your front lip they'll do a blend that looks pretty damn good from a foot or two away. Keenan in Edgemont is great for things I call "lease fixed" they do a nice job. Finally if you want to go above and beyond in terms of price and work, Cavallo is the best of the best. But to be perfectly honest depending on the era of car we're talking about the paint from BMW isn't that great to begin. I'd take our E46 there for example, the F23 paint job from factory isn't so hot to begin with so I'd think about it before spending the $.

EDIT: just realized you meant detail not full on paint. Will leave post for reference still good info, albeit not what you asked about.

Yes I'm talking about a 2012 E93... it's in good shape, has a couple spots where the prior owner left bird excrement on there a little too long! Some swirls.

Lyons for sure. They charge ~$200 for a full exterior paint correction detail. I bought my F23 new but it was a leftover so had been on dealer lot for almost a year, probably similar to what you're working with. I've never had an interior done there so can't speak to the work they do.
