Have BMW Live in my F25 (X3), and if I set country as South Africa, I get only weather and feed as well, however if I select Europe/UK, I get streetview, panaramio, weather, feeds, Google Local Search and apps, and they all seem to work fine, even through the country is not set to my actual country. Have not found anything that does not work as expected.

Give it a whirl and let us know.

...actually, there's another option.

You can use an iPod Touch that's tethered to an iPhone via wi-fi as a hotspot in the car too.

My friend just did this today, wants to use BMW Apps but doesn't want to lose text notifications and wants to have his iPhone cordless. So he connects his iPhone to iDrive via Bluetooth, connects to his iPod Touch via wi-fi, and then has his iPod Touch running BMW Apps via USB.

As a bonus, his kids can use the hotspot in the back seat for their iPads and Facetime grandma.

So I dont have iPod Touch, but I have tried to connect old iPhone 4 without SIM to USB and iPhone 5 with bluetooth to iDrive. I have run BMW connected app on i4.

Result:
- Media form i4 plays normaly with cover Arts.
- Office works
- BMW Online works
- BMW Webradio doesnt work. Meybe with internet tethering, I can try it, but it is stupid solution for i5 (battery live).

Are they normal in BMW and Apple together? One thing works with USB connection and second with BT and you have to choose witch one you want to use ?????
Or do I something wrong an it is possible to have all features with one iDevice all at once?

Webradio will work if you set up your main phone as a hotspot and connect to it with your iPhone 4.

You don't really choose which one to use - the iPhone 4 connected via USB will work as basically a media server, but your iPhone 5 connected via bluetooth means that your iPhone 5 will be used automatically for phonecalls, etc. Text messages on your iPhone 5 will also be automatically read via Bluetooth MAP (if Apple supports this, which I believe they do).

I use an android device as my main phone, but otherwise the same sort of setup.

You only need to launch the BMW App on your iPhone 4 for this to work. The only time you'd need the BMW App on your iPhone 5 is if you're away from the vehicle.

TJF30, did you managed to purchase the 6NR retrofit from bimmer-tech? I'm interested in that as im from Brazil and i have the 6NH as well. Mine f20 already came with the 8,8"screen and navigation system.

As long as the car has the Nav or the 8,8 inch screen (some countries get the big screen but no Nav) then we can retrofit the 6NR.

If the car comes with the small screen then you need to retrofit the CIC first which will significantly increase the cost of the whole retrofit.

Got you so Nav, without 8 inch screen we shall need CIC first so for a F30 if cost be more than !250 that we were suppose to pay for BMW apps? Or we could not have gotten from factory without getting Nav? Pls advise?
More so I have a m3 2010 nov built with Nav, how can we add BMW apps or Bluetooth audio to that?

In my case i have both( 8.8"+ nav), and still just have the 6NH "thing". So the retrofit is possible and not so expensive? Im from Brazil.

I haven't purchased it yet. I am happy that I didn't go with OEM NAV as not being able to add points of interest neither radar locations isn't very fun for a NAV system. I think there is a way of doing it so? Can someone confirm if this is possible? If yes, how? I am keeping my 328, so I might do the whole upgrade (8.8" screen) etc...

Sorry for the thread necro, but my question is relevant to this thread. I took delivery of an F30 335i in South Africa. I did not get the navigation package so I have a 6.5" screen. I do however have telephone prep to allow for a snap in adapter, and enhanced bluetooth.

I use my iPod a lot (the regular iPod, not iPod touch) and the standard iPod interface sucks major balls. I see that on BMW Apps there is an enhanced iPod interface that resembles an actual iPod. Is it possible to reprogram / retrofit something to allow me to have this iPod interface? I do not want or need navigation. Also, does the enhanced iPod interface work with a regular iPod or does it need an iPhone or iPod touch to work?
