I agree - major cluster.

I just want to order the PPK, which was supposed to be available by now.

I don't think I will buy the exhaust on its own, but it would be cool if all three parts were included in the Z3B package (which I highly doubt as well). I already have the black grills from a recent birthday present so I don't need those.

Well out here in Singapore, my dealer just called and advised that a part number is now listed in the November parts catalog for the PPK but as yet BMW is not allowing any orders. What sucks though is the price we have to pay it's approximately $3500 Sing dollars.

Any chance you could get the part number and post here?

I should be able to give a definite answer later today on the PKK, which I think is a steal at $1370. I fear it just sounds too good to be true, though. I'm meeting my sales rep to hand over my check and sign paperwork.

Looking forward to this. You'l be able to tell us if PPK is being installed and what parts are being installed with it when you get your car today?

On this thread, we have seemingly received conflicting information from "Parts HQ" and VPC staff. I'm just trying to figure out what the real answer is.

Sounds like the person we need to get in touch with is Eric Riehle, BMW M Performance Parts Manager. Anyone have his contact information?
I have friends in high places... not dealers, nor VPC... Let's just say the people RESPONSIBLE for this stuff

There is something up here, I am trying to figure it out....but when you attempt to place an order on a new car, you are given several options for port installed accesories. The powerkit, exhaust and grills are all listed as seperate items. Again, you can add the exhaust and grills on their own, but when you add the powerkit (which is technically available as far as the order guide goes) then it does not allow you to add the others.

My bright side thinking is that you can put the powerkit on ordered cars because those cars are at least 6-8 weeks out from the VPC. That might be enough time for them get this whole "power kit" situated. Until then, I will go by what I have heard and expect all 3 items, if not, I was going to get them anyway...

I'm not getting my car today. I've an ED date of 12/5. I've got a production number. I just need to pay the balance and add the PPK (and that is an 'if').

There's no date where you must use winter tires. September is a bit early for winter tires. It's dependent on conditions.

You can rent winter tires from Edwin Tires, if he has them available for your model. It's pricey, though.

I'm taking delivery at the end of my trip. It's jacked up, I know. But, I've got to be back on Dec. 7th and then I'm out of town for work that following Monday.

So, I'm renting a BMW! Plus, it's cheaper than actually renting the winter tires and wheels.

Unfortunately, bananachipz and I may now have the same source. Not a dealer, not the VPC but someone that is in a position to know. And that source confirms that the PPK is NOT available for the US market until late January. Bummer...

Ya... mine's Canadian though ...

They've told me ~January for availability. Originally when it was announced they said December. In the end, the retrofit shouldn't be painful anyway. Until then, JB N55 it is!

I just came back from my dealer to fork over a check and sign docs.

Bad News. Too good to be true.

The package does not include the M-Performance Power Kit. It only includes the exhaust and black kidney grills. The name of the package is deceptive. I saw it on the computer, but I forgot it. "Performance" something. The MSRP is $1370, so most likely that is what is being discussed here.

I'm guessing the OP's CA couldn't order it on the system is because it was already ordered.

I bought it anyway. For the price I paid for the exhaust and black grills, I got a good deal.

And what was this package called that they ordered for you? Was it still called the PPK? If thats the case the pooched is definitely getting screwed. The names are all mixed up from the catalogue.

It may have been called the Power Kit. I don't remember, but it wasn't called M-Performance Power Kit. But, it is what we've been discussing. This wasn't the only thing I was there to do.

You just need to know it doesn't include the horsepower upgrade and applicable upgrades like the intake silencer. It's just the exhaust and black kidney girls. MSRP is $1370.

LOL. BMW seem to have plenty of exhausts and grills, but not much else in their performance range.
