Aux connection works sporadically

I've had the car ('12 328) since December and have been using the armrest connection to play my iPod. It worked fine until we took the car in for another issue and BMW did a software update. Now it works about half the time, the other half it tells me nothing is even plugged in. I've cycled through unplugging/plugging back in etc. I'm still having the same issue. It also isn't remembering what track I was on when the car was last on. It's only been doing this since the software update.

Any suggestions on what the problem might be/fixes before I take it in? My dealer is a 40 min trek so I can't get down there for a week or so.

What iPod do you have? I had an 80GB iPod Classic and I had issues from day one. I bought it in 2008, so I assumed it was dying. I purchased a 7th generation Nano last weekend and I have not had any issues since.

It's older, maybe bought in 08? I'll try my sons iPod (only 2 years old) and see if that works better.

Thanks!
