Can you imagine the planning issues for start.

ICE will out last me I'm sure of it.
and the Laugh is we have not got the spare capacity now for a really hard winter, electric cars are a joke.

I would guess that 95% of F30 and F31 owners will never try or want to tow a caravan, so it''s suitability has as much relavance as how many camels you can fit in the boot.

Back at the end of 2014 I decided on a new car. A Diesel of all things. At the time my commute was 70 miles a day. It's now 4 miles a day. With how things are shifting now and my new commute I admit I would not have gone Diesel.
I do appreciate the driving style that the big Diesel engine enables with lots of torque and easy traction (x-Drive does a job), but I fear more issues in the future (declining residuals, DPF issues, tax increases etc).

I think petrol will make a comeback in new car sales across the EU. Hybrids/ electrics will start to pick up increased share of new cars too, but it will take a while to see any real impact of that. If I was ordering again (and I might look to switch in the next year or so) I'd go 40i all day.

I wouldn't want to tow a caravan, ever.

I've never met anyone with a caravan that I liked , they are always tedious bores who aspire to wife swapping I think.

interesting article http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-38979754

Diesel cars seem to be portrayed as the main villains. Is that fair?

Yes and no. Diesel car manufacturers drew fire by cheating emissions tests. Diesels are much more polluting than petrol cars on a local scale, and the biggest proportion of pollution in UK cities does come from road transport in general.
But if you look at Greater London (London stats are the most detailed) you see that private diesel cars contribute 11% of NOx - less than you might have thought. Lorries - with far fewer numbers on the roads - produce the same amount.
Zoom into Central London, and just 5% of NOx comes from private diesel cars. That is dwarfed by 38% from gas for heating homes and offices.
There are many other sources of pollution, including buses, taxis, industry and other machinery, such as on building sites. So it's a many-sided problem.

Things are gearing up www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/39499331

Looks like extra charge for older diesel and petrol cars.
