I'm still on the fence with the black grills with EB11. I really want to like the combo.

pops can you provide some info on your winter wheels please.

I'm collecting Monday, already inquiring about winter tyres with the dealer, but the selection of alloys is a choice of one, star spoke 396.

Not really having the time to look into it before then and needing a place to store the tyres as I live in a flat, have the feeling I will plump for BMW dealer winter package for the convenience if I don't have another option at the time.

Sure, I got the Calibre Rapide, 18" (direct bore) with some Pirelli Sottozero RF, V Rating.

I found a place online and got them fitted at a local garage.

I had a few snags around things being delivered piece meal, wrong nuts being sent and in hindsight I would have bought at a local alloy & tyre specialist to avoid the hassle.

Finally bought some centre caps on ebay and job done!

Hope this helps.

Anyone driving their winter tyres on ice and snow yet?

My humble 17" winter wheel set have had a good testing this week, on snow, slush and ice.

Like this at present, outside my home, frozen solid, like driving over rocks.

Fitted my old 16" e9x winter wheels at the weekend.

They look rubbish compared to the 18" 397's, but I was happy to have them today

Yes been driving around the North of Scotland on the 16" steel (bridgestone blizzaks) wheel set I got fitted last week. Looks aren't the best but this is definitely the best car I've driven in snow and ice. The grip is scarily good. Seeing everyone else struggling especially a few X5's and Audi quattro's on low profile summer tyres I don't know why holyrood doesn't consider making it law up here at some point in the future.

I thought I'd regret not having the x3 but so far so good!
