Just installed M Performance Exhaust 2013 328i - comments?

Took about 30 minutes, no real difficulties. Now the alignment part; how does it look? I think it is about right in the cutout? The tips I'm not as sure about, I didn't measure the amount of projection before I took the old one off.

I think I'm seeing the right tip being a little lower?

Thoughts? thanks

Looks great! I believe that's how it supposed to look, one a little further out then the other... Real question is how does it sound? Would you mind taking a video in sport mode so we could hear it a bit?

Would be great thanks! Looking to get one for my new 328i m sport soon... I drive mainly in sport mode with the paddles and like to have some fun, so I think this exhaust would be great for that.

How does it sound?

This is just for sound, right? Or is there a performance gain?

I know they are staggered, so I'm fine with that - looking at the rear view it seems one is a bit lower perhaps.

It sounds just like this - exactly.

Well definitely different than the stock unit - sounds pretty good but I know it will change somewhat after it is broken in from what I've read.

A bit surprised by the backpressure sound or whatever it is called when the car switches gears on acceleration. Definitely a lot of 'burbles' for sure.

Nice! I've been contemplating on getting the MPE for my 328i Sportline. Just the normal 8AT though sadly.

Does it sound louder in the cabin with the windows up? What I really missed coming from a G35 was the character the exhaust added. So really just looking for an exhaust that is loud enough to hear in the cabin, but only enough to add character (compared to stock) rather than something that always produces some acoustics.

I've had the MPE on my 14 328i for about 4000 miles. I absolutely love it. It isn't loud but that's exactly what I want -- I'm old enough that loud would be unseemly.

This thread prompted me to finally make a short video. Note that cold start and being in a garage make it sound louder.

I can hear it barely if I moderately accelerate from say 60mph. Really not much inside whatsoever. No drone at all.

Seems like that's pretty close to mine with 19 miles, at least the startup.

Nice.

Anyone have tips on how to adjust the tips vertically? I see that some can be done with the clamps but not seeing any difference.

The right looks just slightly lower. Would the clamp even allow for adjustment like that? I would think it would only move both up and down. Maybe the tip itself? Honestly if you weren't looking for it, you wouldn't notice. I think it looks great.

Here's what you do. Keep a tool kit in your car. If anyone comes up to you out of the blue and tells you one of the pipes is lower than the other, hand him the tool kit and say, "Go at it, Bud".

They look fantastic! Enjoy.

the sound grows on you. I'm sure I won't like going back to stock now.

as for the small things, there's a slight drone on relaxed driving in comfort mode if you are in a higher gear and try to accelerate. goes away if you're in Sport mode.

Why are most videos recorded from outside the car? It's what it sounds like on the inside that counts!

OP Congrats on the exhaust... it's a nice mod.

During cruise it's as quiet as the stock exhaust inside the cabin. Under moderate to aggressive acceleration it growls nicely with no drone. Pops/burbles are probably on par with a stock 335i exhaust IMHO.

If you're looking for super loud, scare the neighbours kinda sound... this is not the exhaust for you.

I just have a general complaint about having to shop for exhaust mods and the only audio samples you can find are recordings outside the car which in no way demonstrates what you will actually hear once you climb into the driver's seat and hit the ignition.

(Also, I had an F30 328i and installed the MPE. The external audio clips weren't helpful.)

thanks. I only notice the tiniest bit of noise from the outside when the windows are up. If I had not have had the A/C and audio off I would never hear it I don't think.

No adjustment, I contacted the seller and sent a pic - they said that is a manuf. defect and will send me a new one to swap out. Nice service without asking for it.

Hey, so did you put your car up on ramps? Did you have access to a lift? I am wondering how I would do this. The procedure itself seems super easy.

As long as it adds a bit of character to the sound, and is more noticeable compared to stock, that's all that matters

Though would be nice to be able to hear it in person, but the closest thing most have said would be the 335 MPE.
