I noticed that in Settings / HUD ... only Speed, Navigation, and Check Controls can be seen. Radio or entertainment controls do not appear via HUD. In fact, no other controls seem to appear in HUD.

My vehicle is 2013 335i xDrive with Technology Package.

Press down on the scroll wheel. You'll get a list of the tracks from current album/playlist that you can select after a second press.

You don't see the controls in the HUD, you see the current playlist when playing back USB/Phone music, you see the list of radio stations when radio is selected.

You can scroll the radio/playlist with the steering wheel wheel and pushing it in selects that item.

HUD displays all the prominent information, such as speed, nav directions, alerts for open door, outside temp, etc, and when you use the scroll wheel while playing audio it'll show tracks/stations that you can select.

Just came back from the dealer.

According to the dealer' product specialist, HUD (in the US) shows speed, navigation instructions, and alerts. No radio controls. No temperature.

Strange.

What do non US drivers see on their HUD?

Canadian Model, I see Speed, Nav Info, Alerts, and Radio stations if I scroll with the thumbwheel (right on steering wheel)). I do see the temp briefly upon starting the car, but it doesn't stay (setup?)
but hey, I don't have hooks in the trunk....

For coding experts in the US, were you able to code HUD display to show more information?

We get the same info as what the fellow in Canada sees.

What do you mean by "controls"?

Also, the HUD will give you a warning if the outside temp is 37 degrees (black ice warning).

US only: can someone take a picture of their Settings / HUD / Display Information screen? I am very interested why my HUD cannot display any audio information.

It doesn't display any audio information, by default. If you press down on the scroll wheel, you'll see the track list available for the media that is playing.

If you press the phone buttom in the steering wheel you will get a list of the last 10 number dialed.

Well ya. But we were talking about audio info.

I did press the iDrive controller in every direction. No track information displayed in the HUD. Pressed phone button. No last ten numbers displayed in the HUD either.

Could it be iDrive software? My BT software is up to date.

They are talking about the media buttons on the steering wheel, not iDrive.

We are talking the thumbwheel on the right side of the steering wheel.
On the picture,inside the red box, the part highlighted by the fuzzy circle. Yes, I know this a performance steering, but the controls are the same...
