Sound mods
I'm looking for a thread to summarize the sound modifications we have done in order to improve the listening experience in our F30.
I'm coming from a L7 in a 7 Series and while the HiFi on my 328i doesn't sound bad, I feel there's a lot of room for improvement. I'm not an a'phile but If I can spend $1k and equal the sound quality of the L7, I'll do it. Speakers Fitting 2 x 10" under the seats would be ideal, because would spare me of having to deal with an extra sub in the trunk. As for the rest of the speakers, I'm going to look for something softer, darker, as high frequencies make my ears bleed. Amp Rumor is the stock amp sends a highly equed signal to the speakers, so replacing it would be a must. Equalization, Phasing & Calibration This is what worries me the most because I know it makes a huge difference in the quality of sound. From what I understand, I have two main options: 1. JBL MS-8 with the auto calibration/eq/phasing would be the easiest and probably less expensive. 2. Take the car to a shop (have no idea which one) and have it calibrated by the guys there. Without having a quote yet, this one sounds (pun lol) expensive. What do you guys think? And please list your sound mods, as I'm sure a lot of ppl need inspiration.

I am having the complete setup from Integral Audio installed in my car in April. I will report back my findings, should sound amazing.
It's the difference between buying a suit off the rack at the Men's Wearhouse(off the shelf random components) vs having a tailor make you a custom suit to your measurements(Integral Audio).

the Stage 1 audio seems to be around $700, would give this a go when my speaker pops and rattles Quote:

Not only will it be on the IA site, his plan is to have this be a dealer offered and installed package too.

New amps, new speakers. There is a bit of uncertainty if he is going to replace the rear speakers, last we spoke, he thought people would see value in it even if it does not affect the sound quality much. Also not likely to be replaced are the underseat subs. He is changing the power sent to them and how they are used for better sounds, but the speakers themselves were not worth upgrading.

Dunno yet. Look at the pricing for the Mini on the website, it will be similar.

I just spent 2 hrs on the e90post forums. There is so . much . info there (sound related), it's incredible. We have nothing compared to the E90 owners. Nothing It's like we don't own the same brand, but Lada's.

And what pisses me off really bad is that almost all the sound mods for E90 don't work on F30. I should have bought an E39
