330i / F30 20" wheel fitment question

I have a 2018 330i F30 (18" stock wheels).

I found a set of pre-owned 20" BMW M-sport wheels in excellent condition, but the current owner isn't sure of the dimensions aside from what's written on the tire.

All the seller can tell me is that the 20's came off of a 2012 750i and are 245/40R 20.

I am curious if anyone with some innate knowledge of the 20" wheels can fill in the blanks regarding offset and whether this set can be put onto my vehicle without modifications.

245/40/20 is too tall for f3/4. Before you buy any wheels you need to know widths, offsets, tire sizes, bolt pattern, centerbore

Thanks for that - I don't know if I'll get that out of this guy though.

I was hoping maybe someone was familiar with the year/model and therefore the wheel itself...and could fill in those blanks for me.

When you say 'too tall' is it the aspect ratio of the tire that makes it too tall?

*edit* I do also know that the 20's are 5x120. Pretty sure the F30 is as well.

Yes, the aspect ratio is making the diameter 27.7". Our cars are 26". You could buy the wheels but need to replace with a shorter tire near 26", examples, such as 245/30/20 = 25.8" or 235/35/20 = 26.5".

If the wheels are loose, off the car, the backside of the wheels sometimes has its info

Or if you obtain the style number, ie 400m, 437m, 763m, etc. I can get its info

So basically, (and obviously not the sole criteria) I need to find a wheel with a total diameter not exceeding 26".

(PS what island do you live on?)

It can be 17s, 18s, 19s, 20s. The total wheel and tire diameter should be around +or- 26". 25.7" - 26.5". Some go a little beyond, I rather stay near OEM.

Smaller diameter makes wheel gaps bigger and vice versa

Oahu🤓

I like the look of the stock 18's, but just feel that if I'm going to change out the wheels, I may as well go up in size. I live in Calgary, Canada, and this is my daily driver, so lowering is basically out of the question unless I want to be the local snow plow.

I have a place on Maui...don't see many bimmer's there. Lotsa local boys with their jacked Tacoma's though.

Oahu roads are horrible so I stayed on aftermarket 18s. Since you want to go up, I recommend 19"(+1)instead of 20(+2).

Yeah. i think Hawaii has the most tacomas in the world. The Honolulu Costco, Walmart, and Home depot might have the most revenue nationwide also. Its nutz
