Air coming out of vents with A/C off???

Recently we have had cool weather in south florida and i have been driving with my windows down and the air off. However there has been very warm, almost hot, air coming from the center vents. the only way to stop it is to manually use the dial next to the vents to close them.

Anyone else have this issue, and is there a way to prevent air from blowing out the vents when the a/c or fan is off?

Scroll it to the cold side, I don't think there's a way to close the center one.

A small amount of air will always come through to make sure their are no emissions in the car.

Is the air recirculation button off? If so, you will have air coming out of vents even though the fan may be off.
