I plane (not sure yet) to buy NBT head unit + F30 screen + video cable + Emulator and its PnP connectors. I ll modify the USB cable to make it suitable. It is ok for you to make all operational ? mic, BT, navi, voice control, streaming audio, ConnectedDrive, apps, sport mode...etc How about coding ? It will be needed too ? I have a ENET cable.. (Not afraid from that ) Thank you again |

You can only have apps (6NR), if the donor NBT has the 9C FSC code for Apps. Coding? Yes, you will need to add 609 (ProNav) and replace 6NH with 6NS to get EBT. |

If it's a F30, you should be able to tap into KCAN2 from ENTRY/CIC quadlok (Pin's 9 and 11)
As far as I know all F30's support CAN2. Mine is a older build than his 03/12. Quote:

You learning something everyday. So I'm guessing you would also need the handwriting module to fully utilise the Touch Controller? So does that mean you connect the Touch controller to the handwriting module which in turn connects to the pins 9 and 11?

Correct, I wired both my TBX and Touch Controller to the CAN2/BodyCan/BCAN of the CIC/ENTRY/NBT quodlock connector.
12 V - 12 V (Pin1 on TBX and CON) GRD - GRD (Pin2 on TBX and CON) Pin9 NBT- CAN2 + (Pin3 TBX and CON) Pin11 NBT- CAN2 - (Pin4 TBX and CON) All I did was bring 4 wires to the center console split them to both TBX and CON. |

Hello guys, one more nbt retrofit in this thread, without your help it would be impossible for me this DIY
I haven't made any coding yet but everything works fine, the language is correct, the bluetooth is ok, the radio, even the navi. This is weird, isn't it? Many people here said that without coding the navi is grey, in my car it works fine. The signal from the gps is very good, i put the gps antenna on the metallic frame under the screen. The donor car of the headunit is a german f10 estate MY 06/2014. Also the usb is not working at the moment, hopefully it will after coding. I plugged the new usb cable with the usb connector to the green connector of the headunit, not the beige (the beige is for the armrest) and put it in the glovebox. |

You have to connect only FM1 cable, and disconnect pin 13 on NBT side of quadlock connector and connect it to a switched +12V source. As far as I know this is necessary, at least on cars without amplifier, because in this case pin 13 has already +12V.

Actually the f10 (the donor car) had some options that are not working in my car (e.g. head up display, tyre temperature and pressure monitoring etc). I don't have factory fitted pdc so i can't see the f10 image. But everything else is working fine (except the usb). Even when i go to the car manual menu, everything is for my car (f20) and not f10. I have the emulator plugged in and with no coding the navigation works fine and with voice instructions in my language. I can't explain this. The EBT is not activated.

also heard that you could tap 12v into the diversity device. Have you done this yourself? does your radio work as well as it was with HUentry? I want to ensure that these really work. |

alright, Thanks for your confirmation. One more question, will this source keep on supplying power even after locking or shut down the car?

I had a issue with the microphone aswell. My emulator connectors popped out when I plugged it in the nbt unit. Maybe its the same for you. Check it.
