Would have added it to the build if I knew it was this advanced. Like everyone else I thought it was simply an on off feature.

As did I when I specced it. I only put it on my car because it was part of the Visibility Package. BMW really need to market these fabulous features more!

Mine will turn on and off with traffic but I don't think they go individually. Hmm.

I believe so, but can't be certain.
Certainly, the 7 Series (F01/F02 LCI) with Adaptive LED lighting has this variable High Beam Assistant.

On my F21 when HBA is on it centres the light, it's fun tuning the steering wheel a little and seeing the light follow your input, when it dips, you noticeably see the drivers side light going wide to the right to light up more of the road (as it points down as not to blind oncoming traffic) when full bean is activated again you can see the drivers side light pull in toward the centre again and so on, maybe not as smart as F30 but there is variance going on. Also says that a motorway mode is activated once you go over 68mph constant for 20 seconds but haven't had a chance to see what it does differently :

For US-spec it is still simple on-off feature.

I guess this fits into the what will they think of next category. It is really cool to watch my headlights turn with the steering.

Too bad the video what not mounted, was very distracting to watch as the car was jumping around.

On the other hand, it is a shame that this technology is not distributed to the US/Canada. Especially with the US being BMW's largest market

Yes, my apologies for that. I don't have a mount and would ideally like a GoPro HERO3 Black Edition with Suction Mount, but in the UK, it's going to be too expensive for a Christmas present. Might see if I can find a mount for the interior for the camera I have but it's heavy compared to a small SLR or GoPro so the mount will need to be made of stern stuff.
