is it possible to put a downpipe on a 328 xdrive? I was told by someone that the xdrive might not be suitable for one, but I'm not sure of it yet.

Can someone with the aFe downpipe give us their impressions? It looks to be the best value option we have right now...

chugster, zluk, thanks for the info. I was hesitant after hearing it might not be so easy for me to get a downpipe, but now I'm looking forward to it.

FYI: Not exactly a green or street legal choice, and it does not really include 72 virgins (not even 1!)

Seems that almost (if not) anywhere a catless dp is illegal on the street, yes. Only ok for the track. ER & aFe state that on their websites.

Only an issue at state inspections for emissions. Catless cars also give off a smell.

I am holding out for a sub $600 catted version.

+1 if not installed kat-back then the determine even by ear hard to,
if set the sound during acceleration will be much louder
in the morning all of your neighbors know that you have to kat-back with down-pipe

Well, the first thought that comes to mind is insurance cover. If your car is involved in a collision and your insurance company finds out you have modified your car (illegally) they will probably walk away and not repair your car.

You could be fined by state vehicles authority (if you have one where you live) as well.
