So if I have a 2016 340i loaded with nav. This would only add carplay for me? And it would require me to send my headunit to Poland for a software update? So it already has the hardware necessary?

Hey ya'll. I have a 2017 BMW 340i without car play. I have a touch controller and the latest screen. BMW reps wouldn't help me install car play and its not an option to buy.

Long story short, I'd like to buy just the head unit.

I have a 2013 335i xDrive with a production date of 3/20/2013. I have the navigation system profession (s609a) so not sure if I'm a candidate for this retrofit. Also wanted to know how it would work with my HUD or do I have to upgrade that as well.

BMW genius is saying that not having a touch screen makes it so I can't get CarPlay.

I think that you don't need a touch screen to have CarPlay - search around forums, you'll find examples.
