So sorry to hear about your c class but the 440 must feel like a rocket ship compared to it!

Thanks Everyone. Definitely liking this car more and more. Only 300 miles on it so still breaking it in.
Compared to the C300 this car is a rocket ship, absolutely the 440 wins hands down on engines. Fit and finish is comparable on both cars, The 440 drives and handles more sporty, the C300 was maybe a smoother ride. Mercedes instrumentation, interior controls, and user interface is very dated compared to the 440 and has no touch screen. My 440 has the digital dash (this one of my favorite options) After taking the C300 out for a ride, came home put it in the garage and said that was fun, taking the 440 out for a ride and returning home, HELL YES, lets go again.... I like both cars, and the c300 did its job and protected my wife when she was rear ended by a semi. But if I had to do it all over again and drove the 440 first before the C300 I would have never made it to the Mercedes dealer. Very happy with the 440 and looking at adding the M performance exhaust (if its not too loud in comfort mode for my wife) It's her car, at least Monday through Friday.... |

We had a similar transition by purchasing a 2015 C300 4matic first, then a 2018 440i xdrive. I thought that engine just lacked a lot of punch.

Congrats on the new car. I went from a c300 to a 335i so I know what the transition is like.
I also chose to get the MPE on my car and I couldn't be happier. To my knowledge is the most tame of all aftermarket exhausts yet it still does provide a nice boost in terms of sound. Makes the car sound ever so slightly meaner/throatier without being obnoxious (IMO). Even the GF likes it! |
