Does the 'Passenger Air Bag Off' light stay on when there is no passenger in the seat? The light does go off when someone is in the seat, but stays on when the seat is empty. When I start the car, if the seat is empty, the light flashes off for a second and then turns on and stays on. I have had the car several months and just noticed this.

That's normal behavior on any US car... The passenger air bag is disabled if no one sits there. Actually there is a threshold so that you can have a baby seat there and the airbag won't deploy on your baby probably killing him in the process.
