Best was a 13.3, nothing amazing, but I smoked a new Audi S4 a couple times.

Nice! Sorry I missed that. I'm still waiting for you to hit 13 flat! Regardless, you'll have to show me how it's done so I don't run a 14.2...

He has only a JB4 Stage 1 as far as I know.

That S4 looked super slow. What was up with that launch? I would think the S4 would make it closer than that given the traction advantage with AWD. Regardless nice job! You launched like a champ with those stock tires.

/end thread jack (maybe)

Stage 1 only at +4psi on 93 octane. Had about half tank of gas though. Car seems to have no top end though as evidenced by my 102 trap speeds.

You need the ER cat free down pipe. It makes a huge difference.

These times are around the corner.

Wow that really surprises me. Maybe this engine just isn't that stinky. In which case I would have a little bit of regret for not getting catless. But I've never seen a car not stink after removing cats. Are you running the stock muffler? Maybe that big barrel is helping?

Anyone else experience no smell from the catted dp?

I love the smell. But I always have some sort of race gas mix.
Just for the Smell of it

+1
I had catless DP on my 135i convertible (N54) and occasionally I'd get a whiff at low speeds with the top down. It smelled like unburned fuel. Top up, I never smelled anything...even at WOT

Listen to him Nick, looks like you need to get a DP. Oh and find a good place to install it so I can do it right after

If I ever made that step, I'd just do the install in my garage. Looks a lot easier then the install I did when I had a 370Z (which had two cats).

I just wish the HFC was a more reasonable price. Not sure I want to do the catless & stage 2 to clear the codes.

Same with me. I'd probably go with Challenge HFC. Now if you want to install it for me, I'm all for that too. I would be afraid to break something if I tried. Seems like it's a tight fit in there, something like a few hour job.

Catless & Stage 2 makes the car so much more fun to drive. I didn't want to do it at first but wouldn't go any other way now. Like I've said I dont really smell anything and there with stage 2 no CEL. Only real issue would be potential warranty voided.

there are plenty of S4 APR tune-only cars running low 12s with full interior and stock tires and no other mods that I've witnessed first hand. also a good handful of full FBO S4s doing 11s. that S4 race above looked like the guy missed a shift or cant launch worth a damn. i'm already seeing guys posting in f30 threads who are preparing for oem PPKs and saying how excited they will be to beat up on M3s at the track. be realistic people please...my f30 is JB stg2 and catless DP/E85 and I know I have no chance against an M3 and will stay even with a chip only tuned S4 in a straight line but will lose on the track to it handily(at least on stock suspension form). and, yes, i am a track whore (road race, autoX, occasional drags). and, yes, I love my f30 so far...good combo of sportiness and comfort but definitely miles softer and less aggressive than my E92 and E85...just being realistic here but take it with a grain of salt i suppose.

I have seen full bolt on S4's run 12.8's , E9X M3's run the same. Driver means everything. Maybe the S4 had heat soak issues. I beat a Z06 at an Autocross event couple of weeks ago with a stock F30 It's about skill but a S4 is not in the same level as a M3 stock for stock on a track.

I have two things done to my car and only been to the track once and I'm running 12.3s.
Everyone can be at his level easily and for under a grand ($1000)

I'm sure In time since were limited to MODS as of now for the F30, well be able to beat an e92 M3. My e92 335i would beat an M3 pretty damn bad.
