2014 335 JB4 Owners, question for you.

Since the late 2013 and 2014+ 335 come with an EWG and they now have the harness out that plugs into the Jb4, is there anything to worry about as far as getting a Catless ER DP, and the stage 2 map? no codes, trans issue, etc?

Just want to make sure no one is having weird problems. I was thinking of the MPPK, but really want the extra power from the Jb4 tune with DP.

I just want a worry free car with the extra power that i can enjoy without any headaches.

TIA

If youre in a state without emissions testing then the JB4 and DP is worry free. For us with emissions removing the DP every year is gonna suck, but its worth it!

Ive had the JB4 on for almost a month and the DP too. No problems so far, but with how hot it is in Texas right now Im not hitting more than 17ish pounds. When it cools down and more boost is applied I will pay attention to the trans and such. FMIC is coming in the next few months. Wife just finished school so once she starts contributing I will be able to buy a few more toys and what not.

But if you are worried about problems, I can tell you I have not experienced any.

Abear, thanks for your input.

What are all your mods so far, just a DP? Also, is this on Map 2 that your're on?

Good to hear that you're not having any issues. I'd be doing FBO and Map 2 and I think I'd be happy with the performance with that from the sounds of it.

That is not going to happen without a factory solution like MPPK. An aftermarket solution, by definition, is not worry free. [You know that, or you wouldn't be asking.] You just need to weigh the trade-offs for yourself. Some find the risk (albeit somewhat minimal) worth it; others don't.

Look at it this way, BMW is spending millions in R&D in a billion dollar facility. The aftermarket guy is working on a laptop in a small warehouse in an industrial park. Which entity do you want to bet on?

I hear ya. Just want to weigh the risk to reward factor i guess and not get too crazy with the car as I've been down that road in my corvette. Guess everything feels slow when modding a car to 900+hp. Just looking for the most reliable power level.

Ive got JB4, DP, and Intake. Like I said, so far, no problems. I love it, car pulls hard, and it really is pretty much worry free. Just remember to uninstall before a dealer trip for maintenance or whatever and you should be good.

Having to covertly uninstall parts in order to maintain a warranty hardly qualifies as worry free and without headaches. Not to mention the questionable ethics.

I was lucky to find a mod friendly dealership back when my 07 335 was still under warranty.
car had jb4,cobb,dci,catless DP,fmic,LPFP upgrade and i still would get it repaired under warranty ( as long as the problem that i was going for was not related to my mods, i never had a problem related to any my mods btw).
